Problem: 2 updates and still no PR

    Hi

I run http://www.DomainSocial.com and it has been there for over 2 updates, but it still has PR0!

Google crawls my site every day, I have incoming links with PR and I have about 1K of pages indexed.

I have been checking PR Prediction tools all the time, like http://www.iwebtool.com/domain_lookup?domain=www.domainsocial.com , and these unanimously say that PR will probably increase to 3 or 4... and every time an update happens, i stay stuck at 0.

Does anyone know what's going on?

    Thanks

    Zach

i think it's just bad luck... google's processes are not 100% definitive...

the best thing to do is just sit and wait for the next update. ;)

Have you tried submitting them to directories? Just continue to build your links and PR will follow. And remember that dropping a link in sites with "no follow" does not count. :D

    Jaybong,

How do you determine if a blog has implemented the "nofollow" argument?

You would right click and view the source, do a search for "nofollow" without the quotes. See if and where they're applying it.

Also, you may want to know, Wordpress places a nofollow in blog comments by default, to disable this you can use the Dofollow Plugin from Semiologic.

Same thing here. I launched my website just before the last PR update in 2006, I did manage to get 100 G. backlinks but that's it. Now I have ~400 google backlinks but no PR, not that I really care about PR, but it is a nice thing when you want to exchange links/sell links.
As long as my site is indexed and G. is sending traffic to me I'm happy :)
Maybe google is planing to remove PR in the future?

The PR showing on your toolbar after an update is old data. Google updates PR regularly but only exports the data to toolbars once every 3 months or so. So if you launch your site just before a PR update you won't get any until next time.

When I started using the SEO for firefox plugin, I realized that a lot of the links that I had aquired had the rel=nofollow tag. SEO for Firefox Plugin Review

Your incoming links are a mess....

I got thousands of backlinks, but got an increase from PR0 to PR4 for most of my internal pages, however my home page and index.htm are still PR0 for this update. Maybe I'm better than you, but I'm still worried what's going on with google. Let's wait and see until next update.

my PR still at 2 after the last update, it seem like because of not much backlinks to my site and no follow tag.

i never knew that no follow tag will effect the backlinks..poor of me..thanks for the info.

Ahh... I forgot to mention that my site's home page is minimum PR 4 if i go and check the ranking in "The PageRank of your pages in Google" in Google sitemaps.

I've got low-pagerank website with more traffic than some high-pagerank websites.

Don´t worry to much about pagerank, focus on getting traffic to your website.

Buy banners for your forum and get highly relevant backlinks to your website and don't forget those every important deeplinks.

    Good luck.
