Probably a stupid question

I'm checking my adsense account right now and the overview says how much I have how many page impressions and so on then if I click on the all channels it brings me a report with much higher numbers. Is the overview the correct numbers or the totals when I get a report for all channels?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

The numbers you are looking at are for different time frames I think.

no it's actually from the same time frame. I believe I know what it is. I believe since I have active url channels and then custom channels in the active urls when I view all channels it's adding the channels up and then the active url's so it shows just about double the amount in the overview. If that makes any sense.

    Thanks for the response

That is right. The summary page has the correct totals. If you have a channel for www.xyzcorp.com and a channel for www.xyzcorp.com/newstuff. The Channel report will often show extra impressions and clicks and dollar amounts because the total for www.xyzcorp.com also includes the total from www.xyzcorp.com/newstuff. Therefore, since the Channel report includes the totals from both links, it is larger because of the extra data in the top link (www.xyzcorp.com.)

Does that make it clearer or more confusing....
