Nope. He completely stopped replying and never followed through. So yeah, pretty much a scam and I'm left with his pirated VB install until I can get my legit license installed.

Sad thing is they don't give a crap and George knows it. He tries to act like a professional but in the end he's no better than the punk kids selling warez. He obviously doesn't care about burning bridges with me over it but I like to believe in karma and am sure at some point it will come back to bite him in the ass.

So the lesson of the story? If you have been around for a while and have a few itrader, you can get away with screwing people over every once in a while and all you have to worry about is some whiny babies posting about it.

worst part is it took him over a month to do it. I paid right away and was patient forever giving him plenty of time and as a thank you from George, I get screwed. Thanks punk. lol.

Sad to see this happen here. It's harder for newer members to sell, because it just leaves people with a bad impression for sales.

If you need help installing anything or some guidance, feel free to let me know. I can help you out mabye or offer some tips for installing anything needed etc..

well what's worse is the guy isn't replying.. which is why he is getting a bad rep.. if he replied with something, we could give him the benefit of doubt...

I would like to thank those that stood up for me and also called him out on this for a response. I honestly feel that is the only reason he has finally started replying about the issue as I haven't been able to get him to even respond and I honestly feel the reason was because he felt he could just get away with it without having to worry about it, which was true for the most part up until others started asking for the same answers. So thanks again for the support so far.

Although I am pissed and really feel ripped off and "scammed" I have been completely open and honest about everything and leave it up to you to judge the situation by reading the post here and on the other thread. The real facts are pretty clear and easy for anyone to check up on and I have nothing to hide. I also have one person trying to help me fix what George left on my server and he could attest to the same facts as he sees the files as they are and he is also having trouble fixing what George left it as. I do hope for a real resolution and also hope the guy helping me can figure it out so I actually have a working site once and for all even if it ends up being two months after I paid.

I really started losing faith in the dp marketplace lately because of stuff like this and the fact that older users could get away with such but am really starting to appreciate the "good" part now as people, old and new, responding and calling it to attention as well. That is what is needed here and the only way to keep things in order and to watch each others back and it is great that there are still those willing to stand up for it. To all those people I thank you much!

I agree with you Scilynt, DP marketplace is just horrible these days.. I bet atleast 30+ scams take place daily, most probably go unreported.. it's a sad time here these days.. thanks to all the scammers!

Just wanted to update this thread with the status.

George has come through with a partial refund which was intended to pay for someone to help fix the issues with the install and database. At this point, he has taken care of his obligations as far as I am concerned.


I also want to thank both Martyn and mcfox for their help working on the site. Both spend hours working through the database trying to get things worked out. Thanks guys.

There were also quite a few other people who offered help without asking for anything in return and all those people really made me see the positive of the people still here on dp. Without the help and the people sticking up for those being taken advantage of this place would become completely overrun with scammers. Management here doesn't seem to want to get involved so it is up to the members to help call out scammers and stick up for each other. It took more than 2 months but I feel I was righted because of the members here and if not for that, I would have been screwed without much power to do anything.

So thanks!
