A lot of people have different opinions on abortion. I decided to post this to hear your opinions and to break ourselves from the seemingly never ending Islamic threads. What do you think about abortions? What is your take on the issue, should it be legal or should it be counted as murder. I'm curious to hear your opinions.
I'm pro choice because it's the woman's body, therefore she should decide... it's all on the mindset, if she didn't intended to have the baby, it shouldn't have be born.. (better than raising a child and neglecting him/her)
I'm surprised there were so many pro-choice responses, especially since there seems to be a lot of debate in this forum!
Maybe if you made smarter "choices" regarding "your body" you wouldn't get pregnant in the first place. It's not fucking rocket science. Take some responsibility.
How is that taking responsibility? Taking responsibility is either a) not getting in to that position in the first place or b) accepting the consequences of your actions. Having an abortion is the exact opposite of taking responsibility.
There are actually a lot of pro-lifers on DP, they are probably just tired of the last debate we had. I am pro-choice. Pro-lifers on here have made a good arguement as to why they think it is wrong and I can agree with some of what they have to say. But I will not ever become a pro-lifer because it involves taking the rights of women away.
Accepting the consiquences would be to have the baby and then put the baby up for addoption. I'm not saying women "enjoy" having an abortion, But they enjoy it a bit more than having a baby, That's why they do it.
The adoption story...Know how many children are up for adoption right now? Know the process of adoption? Anyways...I'm pro-choice. I am not pro-abortion, but I am pro "let the woman do what she wants to her damn body." And what if they took all the necessary precautions? Mistakes happen. Or...What if a twelve year old girl gets raped? She should have to give birth? There are too many "what ifs" to make abortion illegal. And you can't say it's legal for some people and illegal for others.
You can't argue about accepting consequences, because for each act there are consequences. If the woman decides to keep the baby - she has to accept the consequences of raising it and so on. If the woman decides to do an abortion - she has to accept the consequences of her going through abortion and in the long run, maybe lose the ability to give birth because of it. There are consequences for everything.
It doesn't matter what adoption is like. I know i would rather have had 18 years of hard life than no life at all. You don't seem to realize that it's a person we are talking about, It's someone who would have been born, Grown up, Had jobs, A family, Lived a life and then died around 80 years later. Now that isn't going to happen because some woman was too stupid to realize that sex may produce a baby. It's beyond selfish.
The point i was making is that no matter how bad an abortion is it must be easier than having a baby because that's the decision they go with, Was that not obvious? Are you at the stage where you intentionally misinterprate what i say already?
