Private Infractions - Please Explain

I just received an infraction for supposedly "Bumping Tread" but the actual post is set to "Private" so I don't know what thread it was that I got the infraction for. This is the 1st time ever that I've received one where you can't click on the link to know the post that the infraction is for. I mean, what's the point of having the post as private?

 

Usually infarcs dont tell which thread u bumped on..you gotta make that out..

is it temporary or permanent though?

 

May be because the post is deleted/merged.

 

i think usually in infractions we dont know for which thread we got it for right?

only the reason is stated..am i correct?

 

There's a red card on the bumped post.

 

didnt know of this..since i didnt get an infrac for bumping..but got an infrac for running post count lol when i was in a freaking mood ;-)..

I have seen you post in this thread yesterday and now its deleted.
That was an old thread, and posting in that is considered as bump.

 

I got 2 infraction.. yellow one and red one..

No, the infringing post has a red card, down the bottom right near the Quote button. I know it all too well

Check your email, you should get an infraction notice there.

 

Actually, it does, when you are in your User CP, you'll see the infraction & the link to the thread you got the infraction for. This is the 1st time I've seen a 'Private' Infraction.

If it was for that thread, I don't think that I was the original person that bumped it as I didn't noticed it was from Dec 2006 as someone else must've bumped it up as it was on the 1st page of the General Forum. Wasn't that thread 5 pages long & now it's 3 pages?

 

I got one before..but i got no idea whether its private or public..

it just says in the Reason that..Running up post count has no value..thats all..and its expired ;-)...

 

I don't like Private infractions either... I don't get what is the point anyway of it being "Private". The only one who has access to there infraction information is the user of the account.

 

AFAIK, from the FAQ's..infracs are only viewable by the user..then what does this private infrac mean?

i think all infracs are private..no?

 

It shows as "Private" when the offensive post has been deleted.

 

I am with you skibladner. Usually they merge the last two posts.

 

Me too received an infraction for Bumping Thread which expired last year. Until now still have no idea of which thread i had bumped on?

 

it is just the name. The reason that it can't be shown is the original post/thread is delete so mod can't post a link to it
