That would be an interesting bet. I'll bet that Manning will end up being sentenced to about 19-24 years (in the spring of this year). He probably won't actually end up serving all that time, and most likely, be released after about 10 years in prison. I'm not basing that on too much of anything, just a feeling. If you want to make a money bet, wait until I clean under the cushions of my couch...
The post was appropriate for this forums free expression - no less demeaning than the assaults by the others - it included the video for the threads discussion, is I presume the reason for its removal. The callousness depicted by the military being incompatable for rojohn and rebeca. Edit: post by Helvetii removed - O...nations respone......????
The one in discussion while you run away with your tax cut between your legs during a war you started.....paying tribute in gas to your Saudi king.
He's not courageous, he's a traitor. Well, the "kick in the guts" is complete bullshit, spending 23 hours in darkness is bullshit. So, you start off lying again. That puts your whole position in the crapper, right? What do you know about suicide prevention? Ever worked on a suicide hotline like I did in college? Do you understand how it's important for his mental health that sleeping on a regular cycle be enforced? He's in solitary. Know why? He had eyes on classified material. If he was in with the general population he could spill more secrets and do more damage. Even his guards have security clearances. Please, Helvetii, entertain us with more of your ignorance. your bias is so obvious you should make up more lies to entertain us. Certainly you don't mind if you lie more poorly, do you? Ah. Another fart from the ignorant mouth of Breeze.
Only a disgusting person who idolizes terrorists and keeps them as his avatar would support inhuman treatment of any person specially a young non-violent person who hasn't even been charged. You don't get to decide that. How can you be so sure? How do you know that the guy who wakes him up has enough patience? Lies and nonsense. He's never been on suicide watch. And someone like you helped potential suicide victims when he was in college? No wonder the suicide rate is skyrocketing in USA. I feel sorry for the people whose calls were directed to you. Please, Corwin, entertain us with more of your ignorance. your bias is so obvious you should make up more lies to entertain us. Certainly you don't mind if you lie more poorly, do you?
My my... Helvetii does throw an entertaining temper tantrum when her lies are pointed out, doesn't she? Much like a neutered dog, she doesn't get it.
Oh, yeah, sure. That dash of Christian religious bigotry adds to the conversation, doesn't it? As if everything Helvetii wrote isn't less believable as it is... She can't tell us her basis for her claims that Manning is kicked every morning and spends his days in the dark... it's not even fun when her lies are so transparent.
What about your status Corwin, you can not stand an honest person who has no pursuit for personal gain?
WTF??? The problem with the above is that it is all untrue. Glenn Greenwald wrote the above Salon article. He has had no contact with Manning or his lawyer and no sources to back up what he wrote. Greenwald has no source for what he wrote. But that hasn't stopped other "news" organizations and bloggers from picking up what Greenwald wrote and adding to it - for example, Helvetii's total bullshit about being kicked in the head and spending days in the dark! It appears to be a propaganda piece for gullible people to drum up public sympathy for Manning. It's a big lie meant to snare gullible liberals. Ironically Greenwals wrote an article this week titled "How propaganda poisons the mind - and our discourse" According to the LIBERAL New York Times: Manning's lawyer, David E. Coombs, has never complained about Manning's conditions of confinement (of course, any mistreatment would work towards Manning's advantage at trial). Manning's friends a relatives never complained about his treatment. Meanwhile, Julian Assange is living in high style on a supporter’s luxurious 600-acre estate outside London, where he just negotiated a $1.7 million book deal. Assange just threw Manning some spare change - $15,000 towards Manning's $115,000 legal fees.
Well, to be fair, that is money down the toilet. Besides, I believe a few of Assange's close associates said he considers people like Manning and the 2000 Afghanis whose names he published to be necessary "collateral damage" in his cause. Acceptable casualties.
Directly from David E. Coombs: The defense has raised its objection to the documented confinement conditions of PFC Bradley Manning on multiple occasions with the Quantico confinement facility and the Staff Judge Advocate’s (SJA) Office. On 5 January 2011, the defense filed a formal complaint with the commander of the Quantico Brig. On the same day, PFC Manning also filed a formal complaint through the confinement grievance process. Both complaints requested that the confinement facility remove PFC Manning from Prevention of Injury (POI) watch and that his classification level be reduced from "Maximum" to "Medium Detention In." The confinement facility did not respond to either complaint. Due to the lack of response from the confinement facility, the defense, pursuant to the provisions of Rule for Courts-Martial (R.C.M.) 305(g), filed a request earlier today with the Garrison Commander to direct the release of PFC Bradley Manning from pretrial confinement. This request is based upon the fact that the confinement conditions currently being endured by PFC Manning are more rigorous than necessary to guarantee his presence at trial, and that the concerns raised by the government at the time of pretrial confinement are no longer applicable. Further steps to address PFC Manning's confinement conditions will be taken, if necessary. Those conditions have been confirmed and are well documented.
Wow, you mean the military isnt nice to people that steal classified docs and transmit them to foreigners? Whodathunkit?
Particularly to be trusted when one of their own is the problem - of course water-boarding is off the table...... Why not let him make his statements, the pentagon is afraid of the convictions of one private? Afterall, he only copied the documents and left the originals for safe keeping.
You forget I had a little time at Quantico. The WW2 era squad bay we were housed in had 52 occupants and no AC, the workday started before dawn, forced marches with an 80 pack, PT til ya puke. We had a word for how that little girl Manning spends his time (spending all day in the rack)... "holiday". If his goal was creature comfort, the military isn't the place to look. If he was looking for love and understanding he probably should've stayed away from the armed services, and definitely should've avoided stealing classified docs and transmitting them to a US hating troll on foreign soil. The military isnt known for being kind in that scenario. Pretty sure that whole possible death penalty for treason thing is mentioned somewhere in the orientation package. Soon he probably will get a long up close and personal view of the facilities at Leavenworth Kansas. Don't quote me on this, but I don't think he's gonna get HBO there. Be prepared to protest.
