Those two above would kill for their lunch alowence... Manning has nothing at all to gain from his patriotism and we will learn together the price he pays for his contentious objection.
Would I kill someone for stealing my lunch money? I'd certainly feel no moral qualms against it. You mean just like Adolph Hitler, right? Manning wanted to be special. He was all teary eyed because his co-workers didn't like him. Well, now he's special. I hope he's happy with what his actions have cost innocent people.
LOL. If someone bullies you to get your lunch money, this is what is going to happen. 1) Pee your pants. 2) Cry a river 3) Run to mommy and ask her to protect you with her gun.
Cute thread and fair point, but what about the millions if not billions of other human beings around the globe suffering, dying, bankrupt, homeless, jobless....
Those are odd suggestions, but I doubt any sane person would take your advice. I have found that a person only has the rights they are willing and able to defend. I hope you enjoy your peeing strategy. As for myself, I have always found that being willing to fight has been a necessity even for avoiding trouble.
]I hope he's happy with what his actions have cost innocent people - - and the deception used for the unnecessary Iraqi war has caused far more as the reason for Manning's decision as an avenue to bring it to a conclusion saving further lose of innocent lives. Manning is in jail for exposing the lose of innocent civilian lives capered on a recording he made available to the public the military refused to concede. The Military is unwilling to learn from its mistakes and blames others for its faults.
Those are not suggestion, it is involuntary actions from your side, but you are not alone since These actions are quite common among cowards.
Manning is in jail because he betrayed his principles, his country, and his fellow soldiers -- all to prop up his failing self esteem. The U.S. military does not blame others, it kills them. Blaming is the job of politicians.
Yup! Absolute nonsense and Lies. Only Fox news criticized wikileaks of "selective editing", which proves yet again that you get all your information from the channel with the dumbest viewers. But even they didn't go on to such blatant lying as you! Clearly it was only claimed that wikileaks did not add red arrows to guys "allegedly" carrying weapons. Furthermore, The Guardian stated “It is unclear if some of the men are armed but Noor-Eldeen can be seen with a cameraâ€.[11] Julian Assange said “permission to engage was given before the word ‘RPG’ was ever usedâ€.[16] Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com said that “the vast majority of the men were clearly unarmedâ€.[17]The Australian newspaper said the group was displaying “no obvious hostile actionâ€.[18] The German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung said "Nothing in the images suggests the victims were terrorists or insurgents".[19] This coupled with the fact that AK's are household items in Iraq. So see? Your lies and propaganda attempts exposed again. How does it feel to be proven as a pathological liar? I warned you, your days of having a free run lying and deceiving have ended. Maybe LIMO should be charged as well since his whistle-blowing brought someone to harm? That qoute followed by that smilie says a LOT of X box playing little willy's character.
Wow they gave permission to engage a group that had 6 AKs !!! OMG those soulless murderers , they should have shot poptarts not bullets
Gee. Somebody's gotta major case of "Legend in his own mind" going on. At the risk of diverting the discussion from your macho posturing to the actual subject of the thread... you're missing a pertinent point. Now that Assange has shown his true colors and threatened that he can topple allied governments with the docs manning admits stealing and transmitting to a foreign citizen... it underscores why Mannings actions fit the definition of espionage. From the UCMJ... http://usmilitary.about.com/library/milinfo/mcm/bl106a.htm Whether that's what they charge him with or not, it's what he did. All it requires for a conviction is the US military tribunal determine those 3 criteria were met. [Note the shocking lack of a 4th requirement where we obtain agreement from some third world forum troll outta India with a bloated ego and a hard-on about the US.]
Unfortunately it also shows that he may avoid the death penalty because he didn't review the documents before he passed them on, causing him not to be guilty of "knowingly creating a grave risk."
Whether they execute him or stick him in a penitentiary to contemplate his stupidity... either should underscore that handing off classified docs won't have a happy ending. He'll get his 15 minutes of internet fame, then the naive kids with the attention span of a gnat that sing his praises today will forget all about him when a new game comes out. They'll move on to another shiny object, while Manning sits in a cell and rots. Today they worry that he isn't having a fun time in his cell, this time next year they'll be chatting obliviously about something else entirely. Children are fickle friends. Manning will be convicted, then forgotten.
It's possible. They could add charges. As far as I know, at this time, the charges are violations of the UCMJ articles 92 and 134.
Gee Helvetii, have they cut off your access to US cable TV? I was under the impression Steven Colbert had enough liberal pedigrees and distaste for the US to be broadcast in a place like India. I guess not. Here are some clips of Colbert's interview with Assange. What type of jackass are you to be making claims about Fox when Assange is admitting to editing the video tape for political impact on left wing media? I especially appreciate your quote presumably from wikipedia that highlights the unarmed reporters while leaving armed combatants unhighlighted, if not completely edited out. Like a few other people who actually cared about the truth of the matter, I saw the unedited video and there is no question the Assange's edited video was a well crafted bit of propaganda designed to make people think US servicemen either mistook cameras for guns/rpgs, or lied in their request to open fire. If Assange's confession to as much isn't enough for you, you might consider an independent review I especially love the fact you try to slander independent review as coming from a biased Fox network, and then to go on and quote the Guardian, Salon, and Glenn Greenwald as legitimate sources of information. Try again. Oh snap! Helvetii is going to make another post that parades his ignorance! Hide your kids! Hide your wife!
No reason to date has surfaced for the militaries involvement with the deceptive campaign of the previous Administrations to invade a sovereign and defenseless nation and is the motivation of people such as Manning to bring to accountability their similarly unethical and blatant disregard for the security of the citizenry of the country they unnecessarily invaded. There has been no mention of Manning acquiescing for any of his actions nor an allowance by the military for his rebuttal to be made public. The military in the end will decline to defend the actions taken by the personnel in the helicopters and Manning will be set free.
Manning will be set free eh? I'll be happy to take that bet. What shall we wager? How 'bout our DP login? If he's set free, I get banned... if he goes to the pen, you're banned. Somehow I doubt you have the balls to back your fantasy pronouncement, but if so, you have a bet.
My nations heritage is enough for me to stand by and as with Spencer decline your offer. This episode has much to be revealed including the tapes yet to be disclosed that may or may not be relevant to the specific event but perhaps more revealing to the subject of just why the military is in Iraqi and what the skeletons are that have kept both Manning and Asange from losing their heads by withholding their disclosure. The defense for this nations involvement in Iraqi is not only pathetic it is an assault on the very fabric of the Constitution the previous Administration was sworn to uphold.
