I was wondering like we have these ppc ads services so as publishers, we get paid only when someone clicks. I was thinking if lets say I can drive lots of traffic to many of my sites, then use the traffic as a base to get private ads from companys or other sites, is that possible ? I would wanna sell like $50 a month so $600 a year kinda of private ad for a 125 x 125 or 250 for example, instead of PPC. If thats the case, how much traffic or uniques do I need ? I may well approach my local country stores or business and promote my site and ask them if they are interested. Lets say I have 10 sites, and the total uniques hits about... 10k uniques, is it a good idea to get private ads, publish on all my sites?
If you deal with clients direct, yes it can be more profitable. When approaching them, emphasize the targeting being right for the customer, their ads would appear on multiple sites, the duration of the ads (so if a multiple month booking) and so on. It`s not the easiest job in the world because what you are doing in effect is a sales role and unlike the large media companies who may have huge branding behind them, you probably don`t so it is vital you have a good pitch.
Does anyone know where I could find more information in how to market your website to get other companies to advertise on it. Just other suggestions rather than an email saying oh...wanna advertise on my webpage? or does that kind of thing work
If you can cut deals directly with advertisers, especially CPM based advertising you can earn a lot more than running through Google AdSense and other programs... .. You need quite a bit of traffic to have advertisers interested.
That's what I see from some popular blogs (not including paid reviews or affiliate marketing). Of course you will probably need to hunt for some advertisers at the beginning. Still, at the long-term I believe it's the best model: 1.) You get 100% of the revenue; 2.) Get instant payment, and not 30-60 days later; 3.) You have complete control of the displayed ads. And I honestly think having thousands of RSS subscribers is better than having a few additional hundreds of thousands of pageviews. Pageviews is becoming old-school, RSS is in.
Yep and that's what I am gonna do, by asking. You see, I don't believe everything happens online. Even if you have to message or email each and every company / sites 1 by 1, who knows? Because to them, putting $50 a month for 12 months (1 year) to my site is far more than putting a $10,000 ad on a newspaper (1 day), or a $30,000 tv ads for 4 weeks. You never try, you never know, and so i think I am right. Looking at these google ads, affiliates, etc. I think I will need to take quite awhile before earning that $50 a month. Oh yeah, byt he way I am just gonna try out with my local folks. Because some of my sites are visits from my country, I will use local products and ads, instead of crossing boundaries. From property, insurance, banking agent. Who knows ? There are 10 over thousands of agents working, and they need exposure.
