Hi. I just came across something that chocked me when reading a thread. People claimed that you need something called a "privacy policy" at your site, else your Adsense account might get banned. Now I'm confused and scared. I don't know what it is, and if I have it on my site: http://tibiahelp.com Please help me. This is not advertising, I'm simply just afraid of getting banned.
Yes, it's an old story now.. All sites that publish Google Adsense ads are asked to add a privacy policy page. Nothing to worry about, it's an easy step.. All what you have to do is to add a privacy policy page to your sites, that's all..
This is not a 'claim' by people.. Google requires you to have a privacy policy posted at your site. Jensense has some info and good example here: Jensense If you google "adsense privacy policy" you'll find abazillion more pages about it, and some privacy page 'generators' that will help you to create a customized privacy policy page.
You have to have Privacy Policy that mentions the DART coockie. Just Google it, there are plenty of explanations on how to create one. It's really easy.
yea you can even find tools that make one for you and enter your sites details into it so you can post it on your website.
a lot of the tools and generators create privacy policies that do not clearly mention DART so they do not comply with the adsense TOS If anyone wants an upto date compliant privacy feel free to copy my one from http://www.guide2prince.org/prince-discography/privacy-policy just change the URLs to match your own site details.
i don't know if you gonna get banned for not having the policy but i see many with no such TOS on their site/blog. It is better to have one as it is required by Google.
Alright thanks. I've added a little link to a page with the privacy policy in the top left corner. Is that enough?
