I already know that publishers are required to put privacy policy in their page. Here are my 2 questions: 1. When did google started to require publishers to put privacy policy? Can anyone give me the date? If possible a link. 2. About us and contact us section. Are these required also? I've seen a lot of sites with adsense that has these. Even the MFA have them. Thanks for the inputs and looking forward to hear your answers.
It was in about April of 2008 that it went into effect, I believe, although the change in TOS was about two months earlier. Contact Us and About Us are not necessary. I have the former, not the latter. http://adsense.blogspot.com/2008/02/updated-terms-and-conditions.html
I got an email about this privacy policy change years ago. Just make sure you have a good, working email so Google can notify you of any needed updates to your privacy policy.
I see so many sites with no privacy policy on them using adsense, do google really care as long as your sites are ok otherwise? I've heard of some people getting emails from google about this, but not heard of anyone being banned for it right away, so as long as you check your email daily I figure it shouldn't be such a big deal, or?
Is it that freakin' hard to come up with a privacy policy that you can post on your site so that you KNOW you won't be banned (at least not for that)?
It's not hard coming up with a privacy policy, but it does take a lot of time putting it up and finding a suitable place to link to it when you have a lot of websites. I have found a useful plugin for wordpress that generates a privacy policy now that should suit my needs however, so that will at least help me do it fairly quickly on my wordpress sites. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-privacy-policy/
I have contact us on all my blogs as well as privacy policy. Dun need to have an about us. I mean it is our personal blog, so there is no need for an intro.
