Privacy Concerns

This is a great looking tool.

I have reservations about using it though because I can find no privacy policy offered. As anyone who uses this tool can appreicate, there is intellectual property in keyword lists. Clearly this has to be stored by DP to do continuous tracking. What if DP competes with clients of its users? Can it then freely use the information it collects from users?

We have a big knowledgeable community using the DigitalPoint tool and the forum. Have never heard even a whisper concerning privacy problem. Best tool out there in my estimation. Hope you start using.

That's great and all, but it is not very reassuring. We provide free tools and a very detailed privacy policy. It's a best practice, practiced by companies with integrity. DP looks like a great company, but I as a user EXPECT a privacy policy. Anyone else have more information on this subject?

P.S. Can't find my singature in the CP....any help there would be great also. Thanks.

As far as the privacy stuff, while I can tell you that no one looks at your keywords (including us), I know there is not a specific privacy policy. And truthfully, there probably won't be one simply because it's a free tool and that just means money/time spent with a lawyer just to make a couple people feel better about something that we make no income from. Maybe there will be one in the future, but right now there isn't a specific one and if you need one, my best suggestion would be to simply not use it until there is one.

Not only that, but it would be a full time job for multiple people looking through people's keywords. hehe There are about 1,500 per day added to the system.

I barely have time to even look at the ranking change of my own keywords.

Oh, and not only that we don't do any SEO, marketing, web development or anything else related to having a need for any sort of keyword list. The tools we offer were primarily made for in-house use so we could track our own internal keywords for our digitalpoint.com site. In case you are wondering what we actually DO, primarily we develop high-end vertical market accounting/business management software. For example this one: http://www.digitalpoint.com/products/isp/
