Prison Planet Debunked

Okay, I have to admit I don't read "Prison Planet", but I did check out a post there today, after following a link in a different thread. It launched a conspiracy theory about how Google is suppressing conspiracy sites based on "link relevancy" as they call it. The title is 100% Proof Google Is Keeping Alternative Sites Down

The buffoon who maintains the site says, and I quote:

This is the 100% proof that he offers. Now I will debunk this very simply. Google does this for ALL websites. That's right. Because the link operand and a plain text search for your domain are two different things. And even 30 seconds of research could turn up this obvious fact.

Let's look at link:www.whitehouse.gov which has 58,800 links that way.

Now let's search for www.whitehouse.gov. My god there's 1,620,000 results! This is 100% PROOF that Google is suppressing George W. Bush in their rankings due to liberal bias.

Of course, EVERY single website you type in has the same result. I guess this just goes to show you how you can find a conspiracy, if you just keep looking and IGNORE common FACTS.

If this is an example of the kind of reporting this site does, maybe they should be totally suppressed by all intelligent people every day. I guess that's already the case.

Now I assume ALL of the readers of Digital Point understand that the link: command shows a random sample of backlinks and the text search shows any web pages that mentions your URL. They are not equivalent in any sense.

This guy ran off half-cocked and looked at only "alternative media" websites. If he had done any research, or attempted to debunk his own data, he wouldn't be sitting here getting owned by me like he is while I have my morning coffee.

Yeah, you can pick through just about any article on that site and find some errors. They aren't very good with their fact-checking, they just like to spin everything as a conspiracy.

One of my favorites is the Hunter S. Thompson "suicided" conspiracy. They claim the famous writer was killed because he was writing a story about 9/11 being an inside job. First off, that kind of story would have been way out of character for HST. But my favorite part was at the end of the article, where they claimed the original reports said he killed himself in his kitchen, while later reports said he was at his typewriter in his office. This was their smoking gun. I happen to be a huge HST fan, and even most casual fans should know that HST's office was a nook in his kitchen. Pretty much any interview/documentary featuring the man shows a shot of this office nook in his kitchen. Alex Jones and his ilk would rather just claim the man as one of their own and make him a martyr than actually read anything by or about him.

Yeah......big deal you guys act like the corporate controlled media never gets their facts mixed up. Like Fox, CNN, and NBC are ALWAYS right and never messes up. Even when they do, they are not taken off the air.

Perhaps Jones doesn't have a knowledge of link development. Regardless, he is right on a lot of issues, and you don't have to agree with every single thing you receive from a news source........you're supposed to be intelligent enough to form your own opinion.

For the record, I DON'T agree with everything Jones believes in, and I've never stated such on this forum. However, he has been right on enough stuff to merit me taking a look at what he says. Google has a history of censorship, and it started WAY before this incidence with the link relevance article. First off, this is the same company that goes and creates a partnership with China, allowing their search engine to follow China's censorship guidelines.

That alone says a lot about Google. Please, lets not act like Google is angelic. Its funny how you guys let this incidence be your excuse for saying Prisonplanet lacks all credibility, when you won't post in the thread I started about the economic situation with China. You guys won't debate me on that, because you know we're right on that issue. Instead, you go and find one thing that is inaccurate, and then you use that has an excuse to say everything on Prisonplanet is inaccurate. What a joke.

Lexiseek, you should be ashamed of yourself. You said yourself that "I don't read "Prison Planet" but then you say the whole site is not credible because of one article. How about you go read 10 articles on the site, go research what they say, then come back and state your case, instead of making a stand based on a single article?

Here is a challenge to all you guys? Go Debunk 10 articles featured on prisonplanet today, thoroughly explaining with facts why they're inaccurate(like you did the Google Link Relevance) article, then come here and start a thread about it. If you can go and debunk 10 articles from prisonplanet, I will immediately cancel my membership and stop reading information from that site.

The only links we can 100% rely on are the links that GTech posts when he posts links to his own posts on DP. :D

Everything else is subject to error.

I've never heard of the site before. I took a look through; there are some interesting stories there! I think that, so long as you exercise your brain a little, you should be double-checking everything you read anyway. Shitting all over an obviously biased news site is ridiculous - do your research and stop whining.

It's rare, if ever, that AJ actually gets something right. But then again, he pimps fear to the gullible to line his pockets. I actually kind of admire that, myself. I can think of no better way to earn a living, then by pimping out fear to gullible young men who are ready, willing and able to pay for it.

link:www.whatever shows "the most important links" (google) to this site - not all. this is a know fact since many years and has been discused here and everwhere else over and over again.

now www.whatever shows all pages that CONTAIN THE TERM www.whatever somewhere on the page.

    makes sense, dosnt it?!

how "the most important links" is defined was explained somewhere else, dont know, matt cutts blog or so i belive since its not clear described in http://www.google.co.nz/intl/en/help/operators.html. however, its not a secret, if you wanna count the backlinks then everyone uses yahoo or urltrends.com anyway.

ps: THEY know where you live! :p

If you don't think these people are loons, take a look at this thread where they discuss that particular blog post. Look at the idiotic arguments made by the tinfoil crowd.

This is by far my favorite:
In other words, his friend pretty much invented the Internet. You gotta give these people credit, they have great imaginations.

The thing is Jones doesn't have much knowledge of pretty much anything..
His specialty is 'making' conspiracy out of almost everything..

If a person is going to blabbing about anything in public, he is expected to do enough researches to back his claims.

But if a person go blabbing about something without having 'knowledge' and caught standing on wrong foot, he is called a 'nut case'. Now thats what Mr. Alex Jones is..

You said, Jones didnt write that article, he took it from 'The ULTIMATE conspiracy'.
What the Fuck!!!! So Jones copied an article and published it on his site without checking the validity of the claims it makes?

That means, even Alex Jones let others to do his thinking.. That explains his followers and other claims he makes..... ;)
