I am in the technology services industry. My site is ready to be aired on Google. There is still alot of content that can be put into it..... Here are my options..... * include .pdf format "white papers" on it * include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible * include more photos on the site * get a "backlink" to the site * using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible.. Can you prioritize these for me? 1=very important 5= least important (or if you think of an option that is a important but not on the list - please feel free) Thanks.
* include .pdf format "white papers" on it - 3 * include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible - 1 * include more photos on the site - 2 * get a "backlink" to the site - 1 * using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible.. - 5 * 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Not sure, I only deal with HTML format for SEO How to info is only valuable if it's actually valuable content. Spamming it with "as many industry terms as possible" will most likely give you little to no long term success Photo's are good, but they need to serve a purpose and be relevant (with relevant alt & title attributes) Yes yes yes #1 priority This will get you penalized if not banned from Google. Your number one priorities should really be backlinks and unique title tags. After you have that pretty well covered read around here some more to find out what else you should do.
* include .pdf format "white papers" on it (?) * include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible (5) * include more photos on the site (0) * get a "backlink" to the site (4) * using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible.. (don't ever do this! Keyword stuffing is a bad idea..)
Out of all these options, getting Backlinks is very important. And adding fresh and new content to your site is always welcomed by google as far as its not too much stuffed with your keywords. As far as pictures are concerned, they blend nicely with the content and increase the chances of people liking it and reading your article fully.
There's a lot of other simpler things you can do, what else have you done for on-site optimization? - Cleaning up the code - Using H1, H2 tags - Making sure meta tags for your pages are unique, and relevant (don't try to target every word on every page) - Highlighting key points in your content PDF's do get indexed by Google, but if possible, create an html version. You should really only work on getting backlinks once your site structure is defined and solidified. This means if you have dynamic looking URL's, make them static looking URLs and then go out and get links to link back to them.
4)* include .pdf format "white papers" on it 1) * include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible 3)* include more photos on the site 2)* get a "backlink" to the site bad idea)* using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible..
Arranged in the order according to their ranking 1) get a "backlink" to the site 2) include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible 3) include more photos on the site 4) include .pdf format "white papers" on it 5) using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible.. You might want to consider dropping the last option. Normal visitors would not be able to see it but bots can make it out clearly. You don’t google to penalize you for keyword stuffing. Use tag clouds instead.
How about looking at it this way: Well help: * include more "how to.."sections that use as much industry terms as possible * get a "backlink" to the site Won't make any difference: * include .pdf format "white papers" on it * include more photos on the site Why not make your PDFs in to pages too?! Photos could help is you use relevant (keyword rich) filenames & alt tags, but filling your pages up with them will mean your actual textual content becomes less significant.. Will hurt you: * using invisible font colour embed as many keywords on the front page as possible..
I'd rank backlinks #1 by a big margin. Once the on-site stuff is cleaned up, getting more backlinks is really the only way to improve your ranking very much. Of course, you need some content on the site before getting links, so you probably should also add more how-tos with industry terms. Photos will help too, make sure you use the ALT tag to get the most benefit (but don't keyword stuff). And, like everyone else has said, don't use invisible font to stuff your front page with keywords. The benefit you get isn't worth risking getting caught and penalized.
guyz, these suggestions have been great. If anyone has anymore - please feel free. ps: why are photos good?
