Print Advertising?

I've been steadily growing in traffic and members on my website "BipolarNation" and me and my friends have been considering placing an ad ni a local Wisconsin paper, the Shepherd Express, which has about 70,000 readers each week. The cost will be several hundred dollars.

The target audience coincides with SE readership: young, politically-minded individuals. Does anyone have any experience with buying advertising? Any other thoughts?

What kind of traffic can I expect to see?

Where will the ad be placed in the newspaper on a page jumbled in tons of ads or well placed in the paper? Couple hundred bucks for 70,000 readers I would take the chance and see how it works! Just make sure you have a proffessional create the ad dont let the newspaper throw some crap together.

    cheers

Not sure yet, although it will be about 1/6th-1/4th of a page. I'll have to contact her about placement.

Could be worth a shot if you really think the paper's readership would be your targeted audience

I tried promoting Ford Direct through automotive classifieds but was disappointed. Not sure yours would be related enough for this to be valuable. Lucky my investment was only about $60.00

Now I've switched my thinking to internet ads, because I'd rather have people just "click" on it. I have a few friends investing in this as well, so it's little expense to me. Sweet.
