hye, just wondering if anyone in this forum had faced same problem like me to set the price for the logo that designed by me if there any orders from my client.

Is it worth to do $5-$10 works just to design a logo for customer?or maybe other guidelines to do it perfectly maybe:)

I've looked out the forum threads and found that that range of price are very popular among all the designers except for website design of course:)

    so..what about your opinion?

If you're trying to sell on this forum, don't expect to be able to sell for much more. If you're selling in person - remember that the client doesn't have the same access to a global marketplace, and will therefore be willing to pay more

If you're doing it properly, there's no way you can sell it for $5-$10 dollars. A logo should be made in vector format, there should be several concepts presented (which means you need to brainstorm/think/sketch), as well as consultation time with the client to decide on different aspects of the logo. If you want to sell them for $5-$10, here's a good place to do it, but if your work is good then don't be selling yourself short!

Agreed, I charge significantly more than $5 for a logo (here on DP, as well as in person) and I've never had any client be less than totally satisfied.

The quality of your work will probably dictate what you can charge and consequently, what clients will pay. Like grim said, don't sell yourself short if you are worth, but similarly so... don't charge higher prices if your work can't back it up.

$5-$10 for a logo? thats like £2.5 or £5 over here in the UK which i find frightening. Remember about your time and talent. Also depends on what type of client.

Dot undervalue your work like so many designers on this forum. recently i saw a 10 page template sell for $10... sorry state of affairs!

There's no standard magic number when it comes to logo fees - eg to create a logo as part of a corporate identity for a multinational company, a marketplace is researched, design trends are researched, designers are briefed, designers develop concepts, get feedback, shortlist, tweak and eventually an overall identity is formed. Consequently fees can be in 4, 5 even 6 figures.

At the other end of the scale, someone may want a silly logo for a t-shirt for his mate's stag party which after the stag night will be totally useless - and so he may place a value on it of about $5.

It's all relative to perceived value

Honestly, you get what you pay for ;) What I've noticed in these 5 - 10 logo offers is that they're using stock graphics (royalty-free ones, so they're legal) but this does not make them unique!

However, if you're just building a site that needs a "logo" (or should I say a header design) then you can go for these... for branding a business, that's definitely not the right direction to go ;)

Actually most royalty-free graphics cannot be used for identity purposes. this applies to free clipart as well. Read the T&C carefully!

Certain logo design have the professional looks and it's worth by it's price. But some maybe not:)

What??? - So McDonalds decide to launch a new identity for strategic reasons based on 1000s of man hours of market research, but their international marketing division decides that they they're not willing to spend over $100 on any kind of logo cos it's 'overpriced' ... are you serious??? That's a kind of 'sweeping statement' - a bit like saying $100 for any kind of web development is overpriced ????

No you're missing my point... I don't understand how you can say $100 is too much to pay for 'ANY' kind of logo. If the logo is for a large corporate company then the logo research & development takes a long time and would therefore cost a lot more.
