I have given some copies of my ebook out and people have said I can sell it for $xxx. I put the price at $49 and got very little sales. Now I have the price at $20 and am getting better profit. Seems to make sense to have it at the price since my whole slogan is to make $20/day. What do you guys think? (http://www.domudahy.com/ is the website BTW)
Pricing an ebook can be tricky. There are arguments to be made either way. If you price it higher, it gives people the perception that it has more value. However, you may get fewer sales, although you need fewer sales to make the same amount of money. In your case, "how to make $20 a day", it may or may not work to price the ebook that amount...if you price it for $20 then people may assume they have to also write and sell an ebook for $20 to replicate what you are doing...and they may feel that is too much work for only $20 a day.
I also think that reputation plays a role. If you sell something to someone for $20 and they love it, they are more inclined to buy the next one for double the price. Matt
The way the economy is, and the fact that just about all books in the bookstores are under $25, you should follow suite. Keep it between $20-$25. I would think that the odds would be more in your favor in the long run.
I followed the method of pricing mine under $10. Even if its only a dollar more people will be interested definitely its teaching you how to make more than the price of the ebook in a day.
you have it right .... test I would test 3 price points at least for a week each depending on how much traffic you get. Low price, middle and high price point. You may sell more at 10-20 but if you have it priced at $67 or something, you still may have a higher ROI though less sales ... it's all about testing
