Prices increasing for more impressions??

I am having a little trouble working out an optimum budget.

I started at 0.05 for all my keywords

BID simulator suggests increasing these bids to up to 0.20 to get loads more impressions. However I am not getting any more impressions and am just paying more for these keywords.

I have a lot of keywords with no competition with adwords and I think i should be paying very little for these! Does increase click price really give more impressions?

My major competitive keywords I'd keep at 0.10 - 0.20 as there's loads of impressions and 0.10 would be my set budget for any any number of clicks considering my conversion rate.

I'd like to maximise my cost/profit ratio by paying less for non competitive keywords, but i seem to be loosing out somewhere.

should I just keep them all at 0.05 or raise them up and wait for more impressions?

It's annoying because I've been paying £1 per day and getting 20 clicks

I've now raised my max CPC to 0.15 instead of 0.05 and I'm paying £3 for about 27 clicks! It's not fair. Ideally I want to set a large daily budget and keep my non compet keywords at a small price and keep the competitive ones at 0.10.

    STRATEGY TIPS AND ANSWERS PLEASE!

    Many thanks

Just because you don't see competition when you do a search yourself, doesn't mean it's not there.

Your ads have to prove themselves. That's what the QS is all about. It is calculated primarily based on your CTR compared to the CTR of competitors for that keyword, past and present. Those last 3 words are important: past and present.

QS determines your position (along with your bid) and what you ultimately pay. Increase it and your position moves up for the same bid and you may pay less (it still depends on your competitors' QS and bids).

Leave the simulators alone. Go with actual data you see in your account. If your five cent bid gets you impressions on the first page, increasing the bid will not get you more impressions. You already are on the first page! You may want to increase your budget however is you reach it every day. At only £1, I'm sure you do.

Perhaps the volume for your search terms aren't that high? If so, it doesn't matter what you do you won't get any more clicks.

what is your average position for your keywords? if you already getting like average 2~3 position with 0.05 then you don't need to increase it. As position average 2~3 and 1~2 won't make much difference.
