PriceChoice.com .net .org - valuation - possible sale

Discussion in 'Appraisals' started by SCW, Oct 14, 2006.

I registered all three tld's (.com, .net & .org) back in '99. Wanted to create a price comparison site, but never really managed to find the time or resources necessary to become competitive in the rapidly developing marketplace at the time.

Pricechoice.com evolved to a PR3 without my help and receives about 200-300 uniques per month. I feel the value is primarily the brandability of the name. And, back before the dot com meltdown, I had appraisals in excess of $100k. (shoulda' sold!!)

I am currently working on an affiliate-based travel concept for the domain, however, I would entertain the idea of selling all three domains as a package - if the price was right - just not sure what that might be. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

The domain's age helps a bit... and the fact you have a bundle of extensions raises its value too.... personally I thought this would be a bit high, but maybe not if you almost sold it? (OVT seems to be broken... I see it has 146 but here it only shows 0)

Thanks for the input - I appreciate it.

I would also like to hear your ideas in regards to what sort of business model might be a good fit for the name. Obviously, a price comparison site; but I am thinking I might have better chance for success by going after a bit more targeted, niche market, just not sure...

Would this be the correct area to discuss this, or maybe over in "contests?"

    Thanks again for your input!

I don't think it will be successful in a niche, your best bet is to go wide.

    Try to immitate buy.com
