Seriously, is that the only reason? Why not make a regulation that prevents such accidents if this is a big problem?

Accidents will always happen. Plus the oil in Alaska isnt so valuable, it will not only expensive but difficult to bring up. The amounts pumped out won't do much to daily production either.

neo2525, Mostly because Iran and Syria is fucking.

LinkSales, why is there any need for the government to stop companies from digging oil if it isn't costeffective anyway?

To save the wildlife? It might not be costeffective now, but in the future when oil is $200 a barrel it probably will be.

The Bilderberg Group has been planning to increase the price of oil for about two years, so this thread is not surprising. Attacking Iran will probably make the price of oil go up to $150 a barrel, and this is a conservative number.

No oil execs? If the topics are secret, how is it that you are so priviledged to accurate information that says the group of "bankers, defense experts, mass media barons, etc" are planning to raise oil prices? I was not aware these types of people set oil prices. Doesn't supply and demand drive prices?

    Useful information:

Most oilfields arent cost effective anyway. By the time you get them online and running it would have been cheaper to buy a smaller oil producer.

You can drill for and buy all the oil you want. If only five places in america can refine it, it's useless to effect gasoline prices. The big picture is flawed as far as energy in this country. We have failed. There is no one aspect of this that can fix it. We are 20 years out on this type relief. It would be too little too late.

But that's not the point. Speculation is driving the price of oil, not supply and demand. Don't believe the hype!

Nope. I simply stated most arent cost effective, this includes Alaska. No reason to explore for oil when I can just take over another company.
