Anyone else think that the price of oil is going much higher? I think above $100 a barrel is not far off. With China growing their industry as fast as they are, they will come to love oil just as Americans do. What do you think?

In the US, you lot pay a hell of a lot less per gallon in US dollars than most countries. I think it would be great if petrol prices in the US doubled! Yes, Doubled!

I did a survey of what people pay per gallon in US dollars... some perspective please!

Petrol price in Portugal is now at 1.26 euros Per Litre and minimum wage a pathetic 380 euros month.

Mercedes, Ferraris, Soccer Stadiums and a few factories that are closing down now. Also on highways that we have to pay to use.

The price of gas here in California USA is getting close to $3 / gallon and I wouldn't be surprised if it's $4 this summer.

The sad part is that the Oil Companies are still raking in 9 billion dollar profits for the quarter. I personally think its time we invest heavily in an alternative renewable fuel.

Cedar, the OIL companies are making a 10% profit, well in-line with other industries. The price of oil is being pumped up by Media, Terror Threats, Chavez (in central America), and the Iran problem. These factors alone account for 30% of the price of oil and gas, you take 30% off the price and vualla, 1.80 per gallon.

The real scam is the tax scam. Here in WI we are being charged something like $.75 per gallon just in tax. that's about a thirty percent tax, so lets see, the Oil Co's are making about 10%, the govt is making 30%... Now who is it that is gouging?

Why dont we become more like Brasil? The only country in the world that for years operates on alternative fuels. They could care less of the price of oil.

The US also uses but instead of doing like the Brazilians, making Alcohol powered cars, in America a percentage of methanol is added to the mixture of petrol. At this current moment America exports methanol that is cheaper than petrol.

    I'll be the hippie. ;)

ANWAR may have billions of barrels of oil but it is not the kind of oil you would find in Texas where it is just beneath the ground. We will have to work to get this oil up.

Plus, we cant bring all of the billions of barrels up at one time. By the time we get ANWAR online and pumping to the max we will be on alternative fuel sources.

A lot of people believe that oil production is nearing its peak, and by 2010 it will have reached it and be in decline. After that there will be less and less available oil, shared between more and more people. Of course the price will rise relative to everything else.

The real trouble is, oil is what all our plastics are made from.
