I'd say maybe 20¢ for a design that small! hahaha

All jokes aside, I know you spent a long time on the æsthetics of the site, but (even as a graphic designer) it's the code underneath it that makes it worth the money. Did you do it in easy-to-read well commented xHTML, with clean and structured CSS files so I can go in and muck around with it without having to do an archæological excavation to try to piece together what it was you actually did?

Did you enhance the site with some slick Javascript tooltips, or scrolling to links or anything like that. Discreet use of jQuery and some smooth and subtle effects can really enhance the experience. Like a well-dressed old man - it's not about the glamour, it's about being understated and dignified.

For me, I will pay what a design is worth. What it's worth depends on what I'm getting - and the more I'm getting the more I pay. Just a simple images-to-html job I could do myself, not worth a whole lot, but if you've taken the time to go in and create some dynamite code, I'll pay up to 70$ for a template.

You haven't given me enough information to accurately assess the value of the template to me.

I'd be generous and go with 40-55 at the most like the previous post by innovati design plays a major part in determining the value but its whats on the inside that counts and how the CSS looks if its mess then the value will serious depreciate because junky CSS is horrible for a designer to work with not impossible but definitely causes gray hairs and chain smoking!!!

He wants the price of his design, not the code. That design isn't even coded. If it was he would have posted up a link to this site......

As far as the price goes, I don't know. I wouldn't pay for a template like that cause it looks like all the rest out there. I want uniquness.

    Regards,
    Nick

well if it's not coded it's hardly a design then is it, it's a layout mockup. To me design is the act of doing it, or the object once it is complete.

A layout mockup, now those are cheap because it doesn't matter how many of them you have you still don't have a website do you.

If it's not coded it's worth about as much to the web as a pretty picture of a kitten. It may look nice, but looking nice is hardly enough.

Once you get some code behind it, and post a larger image of it, then we can start to assess what it might be worth. code samples would be great too.

There will always be a market for designs like this but truthfully in the world of commercial work it wouldn't sell and if it did only to a company that knows little about web design. I do not intend to be harsh but you cannot improve if you're not pushed.

    For good design check out
    http://cssremix.com/

I could list a hundred sites that would give you inspiration but CSS Gallerys are worth a look. Additionally check out sites like Devlounge and checkout BoagWorld podcasts.

sell it for less and get many sells instead of a few big ones. But 50 copies on ebay for $40 and make $1000 quick

    Interesting math.

    Let's see: 50 sales, at 40 dollars a pop = 2000$

I wonder if your business sense is as good as your math...
