Price Increase - Gradual or Rapid?

    I need your thoughts.

When increasing the price of paid links on a directory would it be better to raise the price slowly or simply raise the price right away to the desired fee? Also would it be a good idea to announce it before doing so?

    Appreciate all thoughts.

Charge whatever the market dictates.

Featured links start charging right away the highest if its for permanent spots.

Sometimes it is good to experiment and see what people will pay.

I suggest there should be no fee for link submission in any directory on internet, we should charge on the traffic the directory delivers to the web
its my idea and i cant implement on it cause i am not a programmer
if you like my idea and want to implement on it Please let me know about it.

Raise the price each quarter :) Arcguy, no way man. You should always charge for links. How do you expect anybody to make any money? ;)

Go with the directorys PR to set your current price if its paid directory.
If you try to ask to much no one shows unless you have somthing of value to offer.
Try looking at others pricing and go in the middle or low end ;)

    thx

it's best to start to your desire price as you may have hard time charging people one year later due to the different pricing.

    hope that helps.

i mean you"the directory owners" should behave the clients like google do.
just like they submit you in adword and then charge the amount according to traffic
isnt a Great and new idea?

    Not, a new idea.
The problem most people submit to directories because of SEO not traffic.
