Hi, Sorry if this has been asked or is not the best spot. I wasn't sure. A friend of mine runs a sem-political/philosophic blog. The blog has a title that is rather unique and google searches for this word easily list it in the top ten. Recently, she discovered that also in the top ten are links to pornographic sites for the same keyword combination. She believes that someone maybe 'sabotaging' her blog by trying to get it to look like she affiliates with these pornographic sites. She asked me if there is a way to prevent these links for showing up in the SERP. I don't think there is, other then by having her turn on 'safe search' which would only work for people who have it turned on. But I was wondering if anyone else had other suggestions.
There is no way to prevent those links from showing up in the SERP's, however you can always push them down! If it really bothers her that much, you can create different profiles/websites on different domains and make them rank higher than the porno sites. Will take some time/money/dedication, but this is one way of getting rid off those porn links in the top10.
I had the same problem as one porn site copied one of my clients web sites and cloaked the text so when you search for that keywords the site ranks on the top and display the same content (in google) and when you click on the link redirects you to nasty sites ... Only thing you can do is to rank higher ... no other option .. those websites disappear with time ... and you can report spam in the index and google will try to fix it but not all the time this works .... Cheers, Venetsian.
