    Well, I would say in order to prevent the duplicate content try using the DMCA protection they are really the best in taking down the copied content.

    HI JackyS,
    if you're talking about to prevent Duplicate Content and Control Indexing of a wordpress blog, I suggest to use and learn to use YOAST SEO plugin, which you can find here:

    https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

    With this plugin you can fix the duplicate content problems, and with a best SEO indirectly manage the indexing on the search engine.
    To Control Indexing I use Google Webmaster Tools.
