After reading malky's post I can proudly say: I am not the oldest on this forum, yay!!! (I thought I was).
My nephew is just 2 and he already knows how to use Iphone, ipad and find and play his favorite games. I won't be surprised if they learn how to code in the age of 7. Who knows? My niece is 5 and she can already manage her facebook and instagram. Kids are getting smarter nowadays but getting poorer physical abilities since they only play with their tablets and computers all their childhood life ahead.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, there are so many children on this forum if you're over 30 you are considered an old git...
Most of the people I got to know here on DP are very young. At least the designers. I mean I definitely have much more respect for a person like you than for other people your age who smoke, drink, listen to Nicki Minaj and post comments on Facebook such as "I didn't know Mars had a sun!". But as other users said, at least here on DP, your skills are no surprise. Good luck though!
Well, I respect people who respect me. If you're willing to listen to me, and not be quick to judge, then I'm happy. I appreciate it. I do party sometimes, but I mean who doesn't need a break. I'm responsible, I'm making pretty good money, and I'm proud of it. Thank you for your post.
Well, congrats buddy if this is the true case, but you shouldn't post this thread because you will end up chewed up by other members because you are putting yourself in the stars with no reason why to do that.. If you have that skills, make something from with, because with braging you don't get nothing... Also, if you don't know how to sell your services, you won't earn much.. I know people who don't know pure shit about Internet Marketing but actually earn millions in this business because they know how to SELL! I don't agree that kids who are 3 years old should have an iPhone... I would be happy if my kids would have at least half good childhood I had... I was spending my days on playground, hanging out with my friends, not playing computer or tablet or even have an iPhone, smart phone or any kind of phone.
Well, this topic has gotten me some projects going right now. So I thought that was cool. Also, you have to remember. This is a new generation. Things change, and you have to accept it one way or another.
First of all congrats on your skills. That is a great set of skills for a 18 year old, but don't you think you are bit exaggerating yourselves
I don't think age and knowledge is a consistent gauge, I've worked with people with masters degrees, Ph'ds and they were experts in their filed within their departments and have been working with computer software for over 20 years but you try to talk to them about android programming or any other modern technology and there lost. The field of technology is vast so you can become an proficient in some but not in all no matter how old you are. But good on the OP for bettering themselves with the knowledge they have built up.
People underestimate what a teenager can achieve - or maybe it's just that so many are a waste of space that the few that get on and do stuff seem to be different. That said, for every 40 year old blowhard there will be a teenager too.
