Hi I have been looking at Pretashop and it seems like a good cart, I want something that is going to be simple enought for my client to "potentially" update in the future. I have used Mals and Cubecart before but want something different for this particular site, I love Mals but I don't fancy coding loads of buttons I would love to hear from people who have used/use Pretashop, including any good or bad points. Also how easy is it to customise the look, is it similar to edited a wordpress template ? Thanks In Advance Dee
I've used the prestashop, but I am not the programmer. I don't know how to design the overal arrangement. Everyday all I do is to update the products and the blogs.
Thanks, I really would like to hear from people who have modified the design. I did the full install and it comes with a page full off mods, guess it's best to do the custom install. Also I hear that many of the mods aren't free, such as the SEO one is that true? Please, any advise would be much appreciated. Dee
I have done alot of modifications to prestashop it is not easy. Updates are fairly complicated as well. there is not much support on there forums and most questions never get answered. I also found the cart itself to be very buggy. It would be very hard for me to recommend it to anyone without a lot of programming experience.
Hi Thanks, well I need something which is easy enough for the client to update and also something which isn't too long winded and time consuming to customise the look of, because time is money and the client doesn't have a vast budget. So that rules that out. Can you/anyone recommend a good cart where the template is easy to customise?
to change disign you have to modify css file, many presta modules are paid, and I have too say that prestashop is friendly system for seo
You might consider Magento Go for your client due to ease of use. You can customize the template with CSS and define blocks with JS (javascript). It's a fairly simple new platform Magento had recently launched last month compared to their deployed versions of their shopping cart. The Magento Go is hosted by them. Your client can direct their domain to their site. So your client wouldn't have to worry about extensive back end development. There are some shortcoming though, they don't have mobile ready themes and you can't upload via FTP nor upload existing third party apps yet. Hopefully they will have these issues resolved before the end of the summer in time for the upcoming Christmas shopping season.
You must use Mozilla with the addon "Firebug" in order to modify the template. Its easy. Check my free themes in my website and you can chage them www.entiendaweb.com Cheers
