Press releases

    Ok so I'm still fairly new to SEO, I've got the whole submitting to directories thing down ok, forum link posting is ok, email requests for link exchanges I've got down pat too.

    I keep hearing about Press releases, How important to SEO are Press releases?

    How would I go about starting to do Press releases?
    Any guides or tips shared would be helpful,

    Cheers,

    Piro

    Press Releases do help with SEO, as you can get backlinks this way. But the major benefit of PR's IMHO is that they help you to build brand awareness, especially if you submit to relevant resources.

    If you are new to this, I suggest you first do some reading on what is Press Release and how it should be written (just google it). Also, I'm pretty sure DP has several threads with decent lists of resources where you can submit your press release for free.

    Check out PRWeb- it's a site you can submit your press release to (they have different membership levels depending on who you're trying to reach). You can also check out other press releases for examples.

    Press releases are a good call. Just one more way to put the word out, generate some interest and try to get a few more people to your website.

    A few tips:

    Think of an EXCELLENT headline. You must grab the reader's attention within 6-8 words.

    Have a secondary "tagline" under your title/headline. This should support your title, and explain exactly what this press release is about.

    Keep your press release direct, sharp and to the point. Extra babble is not a plus here. 350 words is good.

    Remember - make it newsworthy. You want as many media outlets as possible to get ahold of this. You need to grab the attention of publicists immediately. Remember, they probably see hundreds in a day. What will make yours stand out from the rest??

    Hope this helps!

    You can get many back links from PR as well as visitors also;
    as in print media you submit your news same as In Internet you submit your news to PR sites
