I issued a press release through PRWeb a couple months ago and was really impressed with the results. I'd like to submit another one but I simply have nothing news worthy to report. Just looking for some ideas or any other online resources that you guys can suggest. Thanks!
Anything will do. A new feature on your site, new product or just research popular search words and discuss it and the solution you have in the PR. Anything will get you traffic.
It's difficult to advise without knowing what it is that you're trying to promote, and what kind of coverage you're hoping the press release will get you - i.e. are you looking to appear in the print media, or are you just hoping to gain extra links and traffic? For newspapers and magazines, it really has to be something out of the ordinary to get you coverage. Think about the kinds of stories that would make you want to buy a newspaper or magazine. That's what you're competing with. Other than that, competitions can work, as can sponsorships, surveys etc. You might also be able to piggy-back on the back of items that are in the news at the moment and are relevant to your industy by issuing your response, or your comments on it. You could also think about running a survey on your site and then turning the results into a press release. There are lots of different things you can try, but as I said, it will very much depend on what it is that you're trying to promote. Amber
Whatever angle you choose, just make sure that it's newsworthy and not just a promo-sounding PR or you're likely wasting your time and resources. TOPS30 brings up some good points; but I'll capitalize on his last comment that wasn't really a point - even a traffic trend increase can be a newsworthy PR that will generate more of the traffic he's talking about Copywriter also brings up some solid points. The one that really stands out is: When something creates a buzz on the Internet, capitalize on it and NOW if you can draw a relevant news item of attention to your own site, product, service, etc. Here's an example: Fat Flush Diet Plan Gets a Royal Endorsement Fat Flush is mentioned by Queen Latifah in her "Last Holiday" movie where the author of the book and inventor of the diet brought some big time synergy back to her 3 year old book
