Thanks guys this has been very helpful. I will be submitting my first press release and will keep you informed on how it goes
sufyaaan Great list I only have 11 on my list, I get good results from every press release I put out. Well worth the effort. Write a good release and it normally gets picked up by quite a few sites. should do a lot better once I've included your list to mine.
I noticed that some PRWeb releases have a window at the bottom of the screen showing the website the release is for.. I assume you get this with some type of contribution, but never saw where it said what level gave you that functionality. Anyone know? Also, which of those sites allows embedded links? I'd love to get some deep links from a press release instead of everything going back to the main page. Thanks!
Me, I tried them for free, they immediatly added me and get 50 hits until now from them to my website!
No Idea about the rest Devin - have never tried other press release sites except for PRWEB. Some more info on PRWEB: For $80 your release is also included in the Yahoo! FeatureExpress program where the full release is published under the Yahoo.com domain
This is a great thread. My wife is in PR, so I finally took advantage of her talents and had her write a press release for my site. I submitted to the PR WEB using the $80 contribution and $30 to PR Leap. The release drops tomorrow, so I'm curious to see the outcome. -Chris
Hey cmeinck - let us know how the PR work out for you! Also, I am kinda slow, but when I look at the PR WEB site, I only see a $119 option as the lowest cost. Where do you see the $80 (could you link?) option? Or is the $119 option ever "betterer"? Thanks!
Once you sign up and create a press release, you have an "escrow" account. I cannot get back to the page, but it offered me a few options. I took the $80 option - no reason other than I rarely do press releases and wanted to get a big bang from this one. Did I? I'm not quite sure. It did get picked up by Google and I suspect there are a few backlinks worthy of the $80. Here are my PR Web numbers. Reads: 27,318 Estimated Pickup: 361 Prints: 3 PDF Downloads: 13 My wife sometimes gets access to a site called Moreover. I guess this provides detailed info on pickup of a particular release. For some reason, it didn't work..so I'm left guessing. These numbers look good though. I also submitted through PR LEAP for $30 which gets you Dogpile, NBC, Verizon and Webcrawler. According to those stats, 79 reads and GoogleBot/Yahoo Slurp saw it. If I notice anything in my stats, I'll pass along the info. -Chris
