First, determine if you can write it or you need someone else to write it. There are tons of press release templates out there, or you can look at what similar companies have done in the past and mimic the type of information that they included. Next, you'll need to distribute the press release to media outlets and get it listed in prweb.com and prleap.com, and other press release sites. Send it directly to media outlets that would be interested in the topic, as well. Some press release distribution services charge a fee, as do the writers who will write it for you.
Hi do you know any websites of writers/distributers? also what would be the best press to send www.auctionexpress.info to? Thanks
Thanks Subzero for that site, looks good, but i might need someone else to write it so it's good. Would anyone be willing to write a Press Release for Auction Express? if so how much would people charge? Thanks
Thanks Subzero. AuctionExpress, actually that's my site that they pointed you to. I'm also a public relations professional and offer press release writing. You can check out my rates and a few samples at that link, and get in touch with me if you have any questions. Jenn
I would search Google for "press release distribution" and "press release writing". You should be able to write the press release yourself, though.
Hi jhmatter, Do you do special rates for DigitalPoint members so it's $99 dollrs for it to be written? is that per site? Thanks
I agree, i should be able to but i know something would be wrong and it wouldent get me any where, we just need Auction Express promoted and i was told press releases was the best way, anyone else have any other ideas? Thanks
That's per release, and it's about half of the typical low end rate for a PR professional to write a release. So no, I don't offer general discounts to DP members. I do occasionally offer 20% off, but just came off a pre-holiday sale, and the only other chance of that this year might be right before Christmas depending on what else I have going on.
It was worth a try thanks for that then, i will have to discuss that with the others and see if they actually want to go ahead with the press release, i hope they do, it could get us a bit more known, do you any other ways of getting us known a bit? Thanks
It depends on what you're looking for. If you're talking about media exposure then yes... you can use pitch letters, features, op-eds, etc. As for non-media exposure, you can also purchase advertising, sponsor events, hold contests.... There's a lot you can do. If you have a strict budget to work within, I'd suggest looking into some guerrilla marketing techniques (www.gmarketing.com or any of their books). They tend to be free or inexpensive, and are usually more creative than many traditional marketing methods.
Hi, It's not really a case of a strict budget, we will spent money, it's just we have spent alot of money in like one area before and it has not worked, so we tend to spend small amounts of money in lots of areas, as alot of our advertising money got wasted last year before we turned Auctionexpress into a specialist site, we used to have it so it sold anything and then we shut it and re-launched as a specialist site, we would like to purchase advertising, but what sites are there that would bring us targetted traffic for Digital Products and online services, like you offer a online service where would you like to see our site, and where would make you sign up? Thanks, I hope to learn alot from everyone that posts.
You might have some luck advertising on sites like right here at DP. And if you've been around long enough, you should be able to post in the buy/sell/trade area for free. It might help drive some traffic. Other webmaster forums, or sites focusing on webmaster tools might be effective for purchasing ad space.
I can't seem to advertise directly on DP? Are there any specific sites that are run by "webmasters" or any eBook specific sites? Thanks for your input it's all being taken in.
You should be able to advertise directly on DP here: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/advertising.php When you have enough posts or have been here long enough (not sure what the requirements are), you'll be able to post for free in the buy/sell/trade section. As for other webmaster sites, a lot of them are probably run by people here anyway. Look in the link sales area to see if there are any webmaster-related sites. Even if you can't post there yet, you could still PM the site's owner to discuss advertising. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
Thanks, that is a really good idea to look int he links directory and see if there are any sites. Thanks
