I know the two big PR sites are PRWeb.com and prnewswire.com. Is it safe and smart to submit to both of these site if I have the money? The release is definitely news worthy.

While there are a range of companies that can reach media, it may be helpful to know the factors you should consider when selecting a service – especially if your goal is to reach editors rather than consumers, you may only get one chance to make the right impact.

Submitting press release multiple times will not increase your chances of pick up within the media. There are only two real ways to increase your chances of pick up; the inclusion of a relevant photograph and making your release time sensitive (i.e. attaching you press release to an event).

Why submit your press release to two individual companies when one can accomplish both traditional and online sources?

What are you trying to accomplish with distribution of your press release, and what does it look like? A well written press release that is received in the appropriate format editors are expecting goes a long way in establishing credibility. If your release is written as a sales pitch to consumers, experienced journalists will ignore your release and may in fact disregard any future releases you send.

It is important to consider practical features when selecting a newswire service. Does the service include- base word count up-to 500 words, access to an online newsroom, extensive distribution options and multimedia services?

The most important feature to consider is the inclusion of an online newsroom, the number one requested feature by journalist and editors. It provides a place from them to access your company’s information in one location. When you provide newsrooms with what they need, they will be more inclined to consider what you’re looking for coverage on.

I would invite you to get educated about each service features and then make the best decision for your situation. Skilled professionals at Eworldwire can guide you on the most appropriate distributions or write your press release for you, if you’re concerned about your writing style.

All in all it sounds like you have a lot of thinking to do Mike. When you’re ready Eworldwire will be there to assist you and guide you through the press release process.

    Best of luck.

The point of PR is to get them published to as many places as possible, so I don't see the harm in releasing them to both sites. (if they share similar visitors, then it probably wouldn't be as effective, if not, then it will benefit your site).
