Is it worth taking the time to create a press release when the sites that I see only allow you to list the url to your site; no anchor text whatsover? Does this type of link help in SERP? Has anyone had any luck with press release sites that allow links with anchor text? How much was the cost? Did the link show up as a backlink recognized by Google?
I had to pay $25 on PR Web to make my link "live". Not sure if that's normal or not, but it sound like it might be.
It depends on the press release service you use and options selected. Some won't use the links, and they won't even be linked, like this: http://www.centredaily.com/business/technology/story/900141.html But others will be, like this: http://www.businesswire.com/portal/...d=news_view&newsId=20081014005277&newsLang=en The latter there is a good link. So, it is worth it, in my opinion.
AngelaE8654, How long ago was that? I just took a look at them and their "standard visibility" package is the least expensive at $80.00.
I'm not AngelaE8654 , but all you have to do is select the "Choose Other Amount" option to do a lesser amount.
Just make sure you are writing the press release in a way that positions the link as soon as possible and is surrounded by a couple of important search phrases. There are more valuable link building strategies, and I'm not sure I'd spend any money for a link that won't let me choose anchor text. Good luck!
Some of the press release service allow you to use the your link ,some of them not ,But you can use some target keywords chose by you which point your site ,and the search engine will get that.
