Press release for a no-budget project?

I'm looking to do a press release for my new Million Dollar Poetry site and I'm not sure exactly how to go about it. Is there some sort of venue for this? I know I can announce it on my blog and all, but is there a way to get it offered to other sites/bloggers who might be interested other than by approaching them individually? Some service, maybe?

    Thanks in advance!

And here's the page I'm talking about in case it helps clarify what I want to do a press release on:

Thanks guys! I'm going to submit to each one.. I just wish I could socially bookmark them so they'd spread a bit faster but there's no point in bookmarking your own press release. lol

Okay, I tried each of the sites! A couple wanted money (I believe PRfree, ironically enough and PRurgent) and one said it wasn't functioning properly due to a system invasion. Thanks, though, because hopefully the two I did submit to will accept!

And subigo, that's an excellent site in your sig! The easiest one I submitted to so far, so thank you very much.

Well, I wanted to update my last post to this thread but I can't find the button to do that (even tho it says I'm able to at the bottom of the page). If anyone wants to let me know how we edit posts, I'd appreciate it. :)

The update is this... Out of the sites I submitted my press release to, the following accepted them!

    PRUrgent
    Free-Press-Release
TheOpenPress -- which was really awesome to work with!
PRUnderground -- like subigo suggested and super quick/easy to use, as well

So thanks everyone for your tips!

    GlowStorm,

Do you mind sharing the early results of your press release. Have you seen an increase in traffic or links to your site.

    Thanks for any feedback,

    Nate

    Sure, Nate!

So far, it looks as if they're all appearing on the net as they should. At least one of the releases got posted on an additional site. I'm not receiving a lot of traffic directly from the press releases themselves, but I've got a lot of typed in hits (where people type the url in), so I'm thinking those are probably due to the press releases since I've not done any other kind of advertising. For whatever reason (and it could very well be the SEO work that I bought in another thread here), MSN's Live seems to adore my blog! I've only had it up since I made the first post in this thread and already I get probably.. 20-30 hits from Live alone daily which is insane considering they're searches for "million" and "poems" and I can't be ranking all that high.

One good thing about the PR's, though is that they brought people who actually left comments even in the early stages and led to a lot more support for for the Million Dollar Poetry project itself. Oh, and feed subscribers, also. :)

Hope that helps, sorry it's not quite as detailed. I do have a guide I made on hubpages if you want every aspect of site promotion that I've done.. just do a search on "ForTheLove" (since I'm not sure I'm allowed to post the url directly into a post lol).

Thanks for taking interest and asking! :)
