Press release does it work? Can it bring lots of traffic and new visitors? Does it worth spending money on?
Press releases are very important and a needed tool in bringing new search visitors. A flood of traffic no, but it does eventually impact your rankings, which in turn helps bring more visitors. Worth spending money on, yes, but you can do what you need internally and free!
Press Releases as such do not bring a whole lot of people looking to buy anything. but the PR is picked up by other publishers and it can get you good amount of back-links, which will help you in getting good rankings with the Search Engines. Again you have to think about it because over a period of time, your old back-links will expire and you have to keep submitting PR (I would say every 2-3 months or so).
Press releases work if you have the following 3 things: 1. Real news. 2. A well-written release (hire a professional or learn proper release writing for yourself). 3. The right distribution channel(s) for your target audience. As for whether they're worth the money, that depends on how much you're considering spending. A professionally-written release and expensive distribution model can cost several thousand dollars. You can write it yourself and distribute it yourself for free. It all depends on your budget and what you're after.
Press releases are pretty much like anything else. I have a news website that publishes press releases which does quite well. The significant factor centers on it being a niche site with the most prominent authors/writers from around the world writing regularly on it. Mixing a press release in with that crowd doesn't hurt! I've heard that knowledge is power. Take the time to research and learn. You may be surprised at your success beyond what others (even here on DP) have achieved. IMHO.
Yes and no. I wrote one pr story in the past (whoops... I'm not sure if I update that one ) and PRweb results weren't good for that specific incident. But, if you get a great angle on your story - then I'm sure they can work. I really recommend getting some expert to help you out. P.S. Jhmattern.com (couple of posts above this one) seems to have good reputation on PR stuff, so consider her if you want help.
I definitely suggest hiring someone to write your press release. Trust me, it's not as easy as it looks. I've had clients come to me (I have a PR business) after trying for weeks to write their own release. You have to be really honest about whether or not what you have is news. Also, while submitting your press release to wires is great, ultimately the goal of a press release should be media coverage. Make sure you have a solid press list and email to the editors you think would be interested. Hope that helps!
I believe in my opinion press releases can be successful if yes, it is news that you have. For example, if you have some breaking news or some grand opening news, you can probably get a good amount of visitors and if other people pickup on it, it could definitely get your more new traffic. I also believe it depends on where your articles reach. I heard a few people say that being submitted to Google News can bring you some new visitors. But you don't want to care about the new visitors, you want to focus on KEEPING THEM new visitors. You could get 1,000 visits from your press release but you have to find a method of keeping them attached.
Yes excellent skills, efficient, cost effective, professional, to a fixed timeline and whats more she is a business person too A very rare bunch of skill sets all in one brain Advice need a PR look no further
yes, it is good to create a PR and post free in other PR distribution sites. It wouldnt hurt if you give a try. Also make sure that you publish all those PR in your website under news section.
In my personal opinions, it doesn't matter what kind of news you have (big OR small) ... I suggest writing a press release for it. My belief is that if you have something that you feel will gain more exposure to your business, write it. This is one thing I have to disagree with Jen on. She believes it should be something that would be interesting enough for people to read or worth reading, I believe in the exposure of your business. Trut is, everyone knows that its a possibility your press release could get picked up from a PR distributor and re-distributed, giving you all the more exposure. Just my .02 cents...
If you were to launch a new network of websites including an ebook website, forum and free web host, Would that suffice to launching a Press Release?
What you're not understanding is that every press release you send is a representation of your business. If you send releases with no news value, you damage your company's credibility over time, making it more difficult to get future releases picked up by people in the niche who actually have the ability to send quality targeted traffic (where the real exposure comes in for most looking at online pickups). What you're also missing is that you have to treat a press release like any other tool. If something else would reach more people for the same (or less) cost and effort, a press release isn't for you. If it's the best option, use it. If something else can offer you a better ROI, that little bit of "possible" exposure from a non-newsworthy release is costing you far more than you're getting in return. It sounds like you're of a similar mentality to many here - that every link is "exposure." That's not true... at least not to any significant extent. 100 links on crappy splogs all from identical content will never be real exposure. Exposure has to reach people... not just increase your Pagerank. Those casual and automatic pickups often lead to absolutely no real exposure. You only get that exposure if your news is in front of targeted eyes, and the release leads to some kind of reaction, whether it's a different view of your company, awareness of a new concept or service, sales, targeted traffic, etc.
PR actally don't bring lot of traffic, but yes, u will get backlinks and a little targeted traffic too
