Why not try several as outlined here? What works for one person may not work for another while the opposite can hold true too.

I am not sure what you mean by several? I haven't seen a press release service suggested yet. Did I miss that?

Quite a few have already been suggested:

    1. PRweb (if you're mostly looking for backlinks and not real coverage)
    2. PRnewswire (better chance at coverage, not as effective as a manual campaign, and more expensive than PRweb - also there's businesswire and marketwire along those lines)
    3. Hiring a PR pro to handle a larger manual campaign (often the best, but most expensive)
    4. Your local media (contacting them yourself for free, building a relationship, getting a quality story published, and benefitting from the trickle down effect).

    Then there's also:

    1. PR.com - free distribution will get you into Google news, so don't buy the garbage about having to pay a ton to get listed there (I believe a DP member also runs PRurgent which gets you there and in Yahoo very inexpensively). Free sites are fine if you only care about backlinks from scraper sites and occasional blog posts.

    2. Burrelles / Bacons - Buy a custom media list and manually distribute on your own (probably cheaper than hiring a PR pro to do it all for you).

There are a lot of options.

Ohhh :) Sorry, I meant since it's very clear that the best option is hiring a pro and clearly I am unfamiliar with a good PR person, the question was can anyone recommend a good PR person who has a strong reputation of getting the job done.

I'm a PR person actually. ;) I'm pretty swamped right now though, so I'm not sure that I'd have the time depending on whether you were interested, and what you wanted to try distribution-wise. There aren't many around here. You might want to take a look at business and marketing forums for an actual PR person and not an IM person, which is mostly what you'll see on DP.

Um, as a SEO specialist I am quite well in the know about SEO and Page Rank. If Page Rank is what your after, I can provide that service as well. I can get you up to a pr 3 or higher from a PR 0 in just a couple of weeks. You will see your link count jump within one week!

PR = public relations / press releases here, not pagerank. That explains the confusion. ;)
