Press release distribution services - free ones or paid ones?

    Guys,

I work with a news wire service, updating certain sections in a daily manner. I could see that people are after the free services - even though some of the paid services brings better quality results.

What do you think? is there any SEO value with the free services? Don't you think that instead going behind 100s of free services - using a paid one is better?

    share your thoughts.

Well there is little bit benefit of press release distribution services in Search Engine Optimizations. Optimizers usually submit their piece of content without knowing its purpose to submit while that may be paid or free. While submitting they are with the aim to get back links by hook or by crook.

Paid press release services have special features like high traffic, large subscriber networks, etc.. The press release will be distributed to premium online publishers also. In Free press release submission websites, they provide less SEO elements like clickable link, RSS feed etc.

But I believe even press releases submitted to free distribution sites coule get picked up and syndicated by the bigger distributers. It's a proven method of generating quality backlinks and site awareness

Press release distribution is certainly not a good idea. Most of the time, editors even do not bother to read your PR even once.
But if your really want to make your PR submission a success, its better to choose a paid service. At least these people know some good sources of getting your PR published. But do not expect wonders out of it.

Quality will not depend on free or paid sites. Site PR, authority and other factors effects backlinks quality. There are large number of free but quality press release sites. You can consider factors like traffic when going for paid sites.
