I agree. Even If the man had killed Osama, it would be his political death since you cannot make justice yourself. On the other hand, Bush did everything BUT hunting terrorists. Once the Bush gets oil, maybe it's time to run after them as France, Spain, Australia, Indonesia, Norway, Italy, Germany, UK, Belgium, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Japan, Canada, The Netherlands, Finland, and all others did since 9/11...
At least, after 4 minutes without to know what to do when he learnt about the twin towers (even me knew it would be a war, and I'm not so smart )
in a Florida school, he choose a country for war instead of terrorist war. And I don't believe Al Gore has the same bo!!locks to react that way...It would have been worst with him...

I have always considered the government to be there to execute what its people demands them to.

The government was chosen by people and should respect their requests. Not to throw them away when the government doesn't like it itself.

I can't understand how American people can stand a president and vice president in office that disrespects their opinions and flat out calls them wrong.

Again, even if people are wrong, it is not the job of the government to decide whether people are wrong. However it is the government's job to carry out what majority of the voters want them to do,

I actually heard the interview on Fox News XM, Nima saw it on the Fox News channel - so I imagine you might be able to find it somewhere at fox.com. Either that or poke around some of the liberal sites, as it was a bad enough interview that I'm sure it has gotten coverage.

According to the national exit poll, 67% said the war was either very or extremely important to their vote. And only 17% supported sending in more troops. By taking the policy you have, haven't you, Mr. Vice President, ignored the expressed will of the American people in the November election?

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, Chris, this President, and I don't think any President worth his salt can afford to make decisions of this magnitude according to the polls. The polls change.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Polls change day by day, week by week. I think the vast majority of Americans want the right outcome in Iraq. The challenge for us is to be able to provide that. But you cannot simply stick your finger into the wind and say, gee, public opinion is against, we better quit. That is part and parcel of the underlying fundamental strategy that our adversaries believe afflicts the United States. They are convinced that the current debate in the Congress, that the election campaign last fall, all of that is evidence that they're right when they say the United States doesn't have the stomach for the fight in this long war against terror. They believe it. They look at past evidence of it and Lebanon in '83 and Somalia in '93, Vietnam before that. They're convinced that the United States will, in fact, pack it in and go home if they just kill enough of us. They can't beat us in the stand-up fight but they think they can break our will. And if we have a President who looks at the polls and sees the polls going south and concludes, oh, my goodness, we have to quit, all it will do is validate the al Qaeda view of the world. It's exactly the wrong thing to do. This President does not make policy based on public opinion polls. He should not. It's absolutely essential here that we get it right.
