Preserving deleted Adgroups

I am reaching my keyword limit on my account and so need to delete some adgroups. They are inactive at the moment but I may want to resurrect them in the future.

Is there any way I can preserve these? I fear that if I delete them, I will lose all the effort taken to create these Adgroups. Can you use the Adwords Editor for example to help backup?

    Thanks,

    Jon

As I recall Google will keep them for you,
There is a small check box that says - Show deleted items
    (BY defualt it's off),
You can see adcopies that were deleted, no problem with that.

Please, let me know if I'm worng here.

    Cheers,

Google will keep your deleted ads for sure. but you can easily export them from Adwords editor to exel file.

You can export data and keep it on your hard drive for later use if you choose.

    Hi Jon,

When you DELETE an AdGroup in Adwords, you can always 'RESUME ' it a later date.

So you don’t need to worry that you may lose the deleted AdGroups. They will always be there.

Sounds like you have got a large number of keywords. If they are all performing well that is great, but if not, you may need to consider removing those keywords that are not performing well.

I have found generally found, a smaller 'tighter' number of keywords work better, but that will depend somewhat on what your goals for the campaign are. for eg selling a product or service, adsense revenue, building optins etc.

    Best of luck.

    Anthony
