    Hi Guys,

I have been asked by a friend to do a presentation to small and med local businesses about online marketing ...

I was just wondering what everybodys thoughts were for the future of online search?

Im going to talk about basic seo rules and pro's/con's.
    PPC Traffic.
    blogs

but i want to talk about things that may happen in the future and developments that are ongoing?

    any suggestions and tips?
Im pretty confident i can present well but i dont want to over look anything ..

blogs ... are they ending now google are not giving weight to some links?
rss feeds - are they still worth the hassle?
    web 2.0 ?
why use a good seo company to promote your site and not stuff all of your cash into ppc?

So much to talk about - i have 1 hour but can extend to 2 hours if i want.

Want to talk about the exciting stuff ...

A good idea will be to start with some history of the Internet. Then motivate people by telling them about 'The need for an online presence'. I'm not sure what kind of audience will you be giving this presentation to, but if the people have little or no idea about SEO and online marketing, then you'll first have to convince them about the importance of online marketing and then move on to talk about SEO itself.

Try to start with an outline. Then create a draft.
Try reading lots of resources before writing the draft to keep you going. ;)

That's a good plan, especially for the "small and med local businesses."

I went to a presentation about having a web presence (in general) that my web design friends were giving. It was at a good business school and most attendees were MBA students with good corporate jobs in the city. They were wowed by all the stuff that we consider very basic.
