Does anyone have an experience with presell pages? From what I understand a presell page is a page that you rent, or is hosted by another website that has your unique content with links back to your site. I am assuming that you write a unique article with backlinks to your site, and since it is a one way link it carries more weight and it doesn't look like a link exchange. Has anyone purchased a presell page, or content page? Does it work? What is the best technique?
I buy space for pre-sell pages every day-it's an important part of our SEO strategy. We provide the page of content, embed the links, provide the tags, and provide the anchor text for the link. Typically I prefer to buy placement one year at a time to keep things simple. We've tried using advertising agencies that offer pre-sell pages, but dropped them after a very short time due to cost (their prices were insane) and lack of control over where our pages were placed. These days, once I find a relevant site to host a page for us I simply approach that site's webmaster and ask them if they would be interested in hosting a page. I'll pay anything from $0 to $1500 per year-depending on the strength of the host website. Some webmasters will host a page for free, in exchange for a link to their site or something. We judge sites based on their relevancy to our service offering, their age, content, number of edu/gov backlinks etc. Hope this helps
So this has really helped you in terms of your search rankings? Do you just find sites, and then email them? I have traded content pages with 2 other related sites, but people don't really seem to be interested. Maybe because it is new?
Once I find a site that is a good candidate for a media buy I do everything in my power to find their phone number and call them directly. I just haven't had good luck contacting them via e-mail, but maybe that's just me. It's much easier to me to explain the concept and overcome their objections when I'm actually talking to them. Pre-sell pages have certainly helped our rankings, they are part of an overall strategy for us. Over the past year or so we have put a higher emphasis on pre-sell pages and natural content text banners. This payoff of this strategy is that we are positioned #1 (and usually #2) for the vast majority of our search terms in google, Yahoo etc. It has taken a lot of work, but it's worth it Our traffic stats: http://extremetracking.com/open?login=sellmy Sorry the link is cold-I haven't been here long enough to make links hot yet
CJan NH- We are in a similar market. I own 2 real estate related sites, (one not in my signature) It is a hard concept to explain to people but you would think with all the talk about link trading not being as effective, people would see the potential of presell pags.
I completely agree with you. A lot of people automatically get suspicious when I call them out of the blue and offer to pay them to host a page. I suppose if I were the one getting that call I'd be suspicious too-particularly if I didn't know anything about pre-sell pages.
GloryBeMe, do you think the focus of your other real estate site is similar enough to mine to do a page swap? If so, I'd be happy to swap pages with you to help get you started. I can't put your link on the homepage of our primary sales site, but I can certainly place it on the homepage of one of our other sites (probably our secondary sales site, a PR5). I don't have the skillset to help you create the content for your page, but I could surely help you with the optimization of your tags, keywords, and anchor text-as well as give you a solid, well-established home for your page It wouldn't cost you anything, and it might help to give you a better idea of how everything works. I get a lot of enjoyment out of helping out when I can, and my managers are solid enough people that they don't mind me being neighborly. If you would like to explore this idea further just let me know. It's certainly no trouble and I'd be happy to help. Besides, it would be beneficial for my company to find another quality home for one of our pages too
Yes - presell pages are somewhat compllicated thing... people don't read or talk enough about it, altough that concept is around now for 2+ years The explanations on presell pages ((AKA hosted marketing pages), FAQs and cross links on http://www.presellpageman.com/ are pretty extensive , which is why I send all those that don't know about PSPs there... what do you think?
