    Dear forum members,

I have read a lot of buzz about this premium wordpress plugin: IntenseDebate.

Obviously, a lot of bloggers are already using this plugin to boost their visibility, user engagement, user interaction and ultimately their search engine rankings. The plugin intends to make blog posts go viral. It can be implemented in WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr and many other blogging/CMS platforms.

Here is a short list of some of the features it offers:

    • Comment Threading
    • Reply by Email
    • Reputation Points and Comment Voting
    • Social Network Integration

I am thinking about using this plugin, too.

Has anybody of you ever tried and tested this plugin? What are your results? Would you recommend it? Does it have an adverse impact on the website speed/performance?

    Thanks for your feedback!

I was thinking of using this too, but then I heard about Disqus. I am now using Disqus and really happy with it. Have you heard about it?

Hi Semel, thanks for the feedback. In fact, I have just checked Disqus. I have heard of it before but I never had taken the time to check it properly.

It looks nice and clean. I also like that it supports a lots of login options and that it looks great on mobile devices. These things are a definite plus.

However, I have read that with Disqus all URLs in comments are auto-linked. Isn't there a possibility to configure or turn off this feature?

Disqus is running on range of websites I frequent. It frankly never loads or requires me to click reload to see comments. So, no on disqus. I have not looked at intense debate lately but I don't recommend using things on your site that requires other peoples stuff to work.
