It's because this website wasen't a directory originally. I thoguht "amnesty" was a weird word to have in a directory so I did some investigation. I was going to submit until I noticed PR 0 sub pages. Go to archive.org and use the wayback machine.

Yes it has not always been a directory. But the engines will spider the internel pages soon enouph. All the subpages are linked from the homepage, so eexpect pr4 pages on the next update. I expect them to start showing up any day now in the results.

I'll probably get red for thread bashing...but my intentions are good, so what the heck.

This is the second directory that you posted on this forum that was an expired domain. The last one, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=255056, was a PR5 and I questioned how you were planning to promote it when you were selling links at $1/month. Now you have another high PR directory, also an expired domain, and it has the exact same template as the other.

How are you planning to maintain both a PR5 and a PR6 ranking when you're charging $1/month for one and $2/month on the other? It will takes tons of money and/or time to keep up that PR (especially when you are planning to have all you subpages become a PR4 as well)...but you'll break even after purchasing a word cloud link.

This is what I do full time, and I am very good and maintaining and increasing pagerank. I could give you a list of sites I have done this with. I have turned a number of brand new pro sites to pr 5......I buy some sites with high pr just to creat link to my other sites. I have a budget which is independent of the subscriptions, I am building long term infrastructure. I do not think you are bashing this post, I welcome all inquiries, because I know most people cannot maintain high pr. But I can, and do, and will in the future, because building backlinks is my specialty. If you want to see what this directory will look like in the next update check out another pr6 Directory I have promoted for a long time prior to the last G update http://www.1gt.org

Rvagelsky, $2 / month is $24 / year which isn't exactly on the low end.

Thanks for the input, and I read the post, but I am not selling my directories under any circumstances like some other flippers. And when I buy I promote heavily. As i said i am building long term, and while $24/year seems high end for inclusion, there will not be much pagerank dilution as in larger directories. Plus you can cancel before the year if you want, and won't be out much.
I would build directories for my own sites even if I did not sell links, that is how I started http://www.aaronsfreebies.com in 2002, which started as PR0 Directory with 0 backlinks
and is now pr5 with 10,000 backlinks according to submitexpress.com/linkpop all from scratch, from articles, signatures, blogs, etc. But I am happy there are sceptics, because i buy links too, and I know that is healthy.

So what's the story with foolshorses.info?

"This is just a good solid PR4 directory site."

You've had it since May 2006? If you made any attempt at promoting the site, the results would be quite different than what's returned when searching for the domain name. Is it that hard to maintain a PR4?

    link:www.foolshorses.info

Odd to see more links sales offers in the search results instead of actual listings for the site. Could we say this is typical for most of your domains? Looking at your threads, you spend quite a bit of time peddling links.

Most of us here in DP buys links. Why ? Its, because we want to protect our clients investments to us. We don't just put out PR6 old domains just to earn a quick buck. That is an unwise marketing which not protect your clients investment. There are people in this thread who comes out with new directories and offers free listings because they know the deal.

    Thanks
