?

Is this a good idea?

  1. Yes, I would have need for 1 year before Private Message delete

Premium member Private Messages stay for 1 year instead of what it currently is: 6 months. I would buy this as I need to backtrack my Private Messages from up to a year for previous deals online, this is my suggestion for a stronger incentive to become premium member

You can always download them to your PC for safe keeping.

It's not retroactive anyway... once they are deleted, they are gone. You can't become a premium member and then retroactively all your old PMs reappear.

If you just need that then don't waste money on Premium membership. Just enable email notification of PM's and then run a search in your mailbox whenever you need to find any.

You have two options with you. Download them to your PC through given option at PM page and enable email notification of PM's so that way you can store them at your email account.

Download the XML file of ur PM to the PC. You can use the Vbulletin PM Reader to view and search ur PM.

On the other hand, once we are a premium user, can we request that our PMs expire sooner (or even at the same time?)

I understand this would probably require a separate usergroup/permissions being made, so I doubt so, but I'd like to be sure, as it interests me as a potentiality.

I would also be weary of that vBulletin PM Reader application, as it has "ABUSABLE" stamped all over it for me.

You can delete stuff as soon as you want with the delete options. :)
