hello, i have a little question about premium name.

    Im beginer in domain business.
Yesterday, i have buying domain .info
But, in option, if i buying .com domain in same name i must spending $1k for buy it (premium). Why .info and .net is not categorize premium name? just .com for premium name. And what benefit if i buying premium name? i think it's same... Why premium name it's very very very awesome price?

im sorry for my question, because im very newbie in domain business hhe
    Thanks... :)

.com is the "standard" extension for the majority of websites out there. The reason why other TLDs are not considered premium is because .com is what people default to when entering addresses.

If you own anything other than the .com, you have additional work ahead of you for marketing and traffic generation and one could argue that you will automatically lose traffic to the .com counterpart of whatever non-.com extension you own.

one option is go for .net/.info and when later you business goes up buy it corresponding .com who owns it...most of the domains are currently registered for making money by selling it.

You must be talking about Godaddy. Anyone can sell a domain there and call it "premium" and Godaddy will offer it as a suggestion on a domain search result page - it's a complete joke.

To me, a premium domain would be something like diamonds.com, computers.net or help.org. Most of the "premium" ones listed for sale on Godaddy are laughable. It's entirely stupid that Godaddy stands behind the word "premium" just because someone opted into their service and is re-selling their domain through them.

premium for one might not be premium for others, rule of thumbs, if its one common english word and has a .com extension then its a permium domain, the rest are just premium wannabe.

try your best to think some name easy other to remember and promote it hard, if your site really famous enough, it will automatically become a premium brand name

Anything which is rare can be premium, I think .net also comes to the category of premium domain if the domain name is memorable/shorter.
