From past experience with article rewriting and spinning, Google latest algorithm appears to be smart enough to group similiar spun articles together so I think it's a waste of time. There is no duplicate content penalty if the duplicate content is outside of your website, otherwise I can just sink my competitions by spamming their articles to thousands of sites. If a single article is submitted to 300 directories, Google will stack the duplicates, but will also stack the authority and page rank juice score to the article on what it thinks is the originally site.
