i read somewhere that preloading cache is good for the blog (don't know how) i'm using super cache plugin and switched on preloading(preloading after every 2 days) but that has increased the downloading time of page from 675ms to 700ms according to webmaster tools. My question is....should i continue preloading cache or stop it?? what are its benefits and drawbacks??????/ any other ways to increase my site's load time? site link: www.gizmocrazed.com need help
Preloading the cache is good to use (I use it). Basically it makes your website even faster (I won't explain how). Also since Google is changing it's algorithm a little (apparently) which will also consider loading speed, this would make it a lot easier to rank for the keywords you want.
I use it on all of my websites, if you watch your server load it should decrease with preloading turned on. Your site loaded pretty fast for me.
why downloading time of a page got increased???? "it makes your website even faster (I won't explain how)." that is what i wanted to know
actually i'm using magazine theme called 'Newswire' and it takes a lot of resources.....don't know what to do....how to decrease the load time????
Just read the description: "This will cache every published post and page on your site. It will create supercache static files so unknown visitors (including bots) will hit a cached page. This will probably help your Google ranking as they are using speed as a metric when judging websites now. Preloading creates lots of files however. Caching is done from the newest post to the oldest so please consider only caching the newest if you have lots (10,000+) of posts. This is especially important on shared hosting. In ’Preload Mode’ regular garbage collection will only clean out old half-on files for known users, not the preloaded supercache files. This is a recommended setting when the cache is preloaded."
How can i specify posts for caching? i mean if i want to cache only new posts and leave the old ones...how can i do that?
