should i set a preferred domain in google? www.yoursite.com or yoursite.com how do i go about figuring which one to set it to if i should set it?
It doesn't matter as long as you stick with the one you choose. It's just a matter of personal preference. If you have a higher PR with one of them, you could go with that.
As mjewel has said, it doesn't matter which one you chose. Even if one has more PR, you can pass it on to the other domain by using 301 redirects. But personally I prefer www.domain.com over domain.com.
that depents on you. i think you must choose the same with same format that people are giving link to you. for example if people are giving link to you with sitename.com, you must choose sitename.com.
Exactly. Almost all links to dmoz.org points to dmoz.org and not www.dmoz.org. And they are not using a 301 redirect. So google considers them to be separate domains.
Pick the one that look more comfortable.Using google webmaster central can solve the problem easily.and it does have a difference. My friend website,amanz.net had a different pagerank.www.amanz.net got PR4 but amanz.net got PR2.
go with the one with the better PR lol, like uzair, its always better way to monetize your sites later on
