If you write long posts then you should go with 5 posts but if your normal posts are around 300 words each then displaying 10 is good option
Depends, for a magazine theme in a site... like my site... I have 6+5+4 post showing up actually. For a regular theme, without the read more tag, I would go for 5 posts at max. With the read more tag, 8-10!
You're safe if you keep it around 5 posts. Too many and the site may appear cluttered, too little and it will look like the site doesn't have much life...
I may go for 5, at least for some blogs, but then for others maybe 10, or close to 10 will be better, dependant on the blog i guess, thanks everyone.
Thanks Dean, il go for 5 then on my latest blog, leaving it at 10 for another blog, i think some blogs possibly suit different amounts over others.
It depends on the theme and the concept of the site With a magazine theme I even have 1 and 10 on another one
yes , you need to make posts everyday and it is the way of promoting your site to other site. but make sure that you don't spam or just post it through related site.
I've been looking to promote my blog more, and a lot of people say 'link to other sites.' How'dya do that?
I keep it at the default 10, and I don't really cater for dial-up users cause I have a hefty pic atop each post
You can post in advance... Look at this thread about posting planification: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=832825
I think this depends on size of blog and sidebar size , i am using three post on landing page and i like them .
