Will <keyword>.info be sold for $xxx in 2010? How about 5-6 letters dictionary word .com/.net ? How about country domains like .eu,.in,.co.in? What do you think?
I expect that the price of .com domains will increase by 15-20% per year for next 5 years. All good domains are already registered either for proper business purpose or for resale. What concerns other TLDs I think the price will go up only for keyword domains, as you can always buy crap domains for cheap with plenty of TLDs and there will be new TLDs added from time to time.
I will still think that the .com will still hold its value in gold. The .info will still remain where it is now as in somewhere at the bottom of the pile. Country TLD are only useful in the country they are intended to be used in.
By then more international focused domains will be hotter. Spanish words in .es or .mx French words in .fr No matter what people will try to put English words in extensions where the target users don't speak or understand English. non English markets will be playing catch up with the English domain market by then.
I hope there will be some more extensions similar to .com, .net or .org I hate .info domains... But .com domains will always remain at the top of the list
I think it will be .TV .com's will always be number 1 but .TV's will be huge, easily in second place. There is a great article at DHJournal.com's homepage about someone guy who is heavily pushing .TV domains Jump on the .TV gold rush now...we will look back on this like we do looking back at the .com goldrush.
Here's my prediction - I believe by 2010 common domains will do away with the TLD part. It'll be just the names without the cumbersome dot. And 8 year olds will be buying .com domains at the price of 10 for $0.99 and Google will be providing free dedicated server hosting for all.
.com .net and .org all meaningful domains would be registered...... ather domains may gain lead like .eu , .biz and .us
I think .tv will be the next hot extension in the near future. Demand Media and Richard Rosenblatt is spending a lot of money and effort to promote the extension.
[geo][services].com [product][insert keyword] or [insert keyword][product].com that's what I think is hot for 2010.
I believe .COM will remain the prime property suffix. The others especially the newer ones keep popping up like new suburbs but it's not likely they will skyrocket in value anytime.
.mobi does not soom to have any value. EDIT: Wow.. this is an old thread so meaning that what other thought years ago is happening right now
