  2. John Mccain

    4 vote(s)
    17.4%
  3. None of the above

Please choose the presidential candidate who you will be voting for from the poll above. If you don't plan on voting or don't approve of either one choose "none". You can also leave your reason why you think that person would make the best president.

I'm voting for Barack Obama for a number of reasons. Here are some of the most important:

    1. Withdrawal From Iraq.
    2. I believe Obama will be far less likely to get us into an unneeded war with Iran (or anyone else) over the next four years than would be McCain.
    3. The Supreme Court. This is extremely important. It's likely that the next President will appoint 2 or more judges in the next four years. Judges who could serve 30 or more years and be instrumental in shaping the laws of our country for a long time. I want liberal judges of course and Obama is obviously much more likely to appoint judges that I agree with (more so anyway) on the issues. Judges who understand the importance of civil liberties.
    4. Lower Taxes. Although I would love to get into the tax bracket that will get lower taxes under McCain, that doesn't appear to be happening any time too soon. And even if it does - I still feel Obama's tax plan is more fair.
    5. Health Care. Obama's health care plan is not perfect, far from it. But I believe it's a step in the right direction. McCain's is actually a step back.
    6. Commitment To Alternative Energy. Al Gore recently said he believes America can run entirely on wind & solar energy within 10 years. I want a President who would try to put such a plan into action. I'm not 100% positive Obama is that guy and he may let me down a bit in this regard - but I know there's a far better chance with him than with McCain.

I don't believe in this "lesser of two evils" thing. I believe that our system is set up so that changes are small steps. I think Obama is some small steps in the right direction. He may not be perfect. I'd love for him to be for ending the drug war entirely and for true universal health care. While he may not be perfect - he is a step in the right direction. People who are voting for the Naders and the Bob Barrs think that things can happen all at once - like some sort of magical revolution. It just doesn't happen like that, I understand those desires and I think it's good to get those ideas out there so they can become more mainstream but when it comes down to it... I think it's too important to keep John McCain out of office to vote for Barr for civil liberties or Nader because I'm sure I agree with him on the issues more than Obama. The fact is - those guys aren't going to win. McCain might, and we can't let that happen.

I have to go with Obama. State vs State is having a mock election coming August 1st, so don't forget to put in your vote there.

who cares, i know who ever comes in is going to rage wars, and most probably obama will come in. and if he does he will be raging a war with iran and if it does i am 100% sure that it will be world war 3, and i know i will be one of the person taking part in it. i will kill obama. see his comments, " we wont let iran acquire nuclear power " . Why, is the world theirs or have they bought it. First, america itself should stop building nuclear powers.

I'm voting for obama. Mccain is completely out of touch with reality. He hasn't even ever sent an email.

As of right now they both suck.

Obama is just moving the war in Iraq to Afghanistan. Whoopdedoo.

Now I see the CHANGE he was talking about. War in a different country - nice change of scenery.

I think Obama is a good man that is ready to be our next president. Personally, I think Mccain is a good man that is ready for retirement.

I'm voicing my opinion by NOT voting for anyone. Why am I going to vote if I don't think either candidate is worth a damn??? I want someone who actually gives a damn about this country and I don't think McCain or Obama care enough to make a difference....

They are both wrong for our nation. Obama is the scariest of the two because at least we know where McCain stands. Obama switches to suit who ever the audience is and denounces thing he has stood for his whole life just to get elected. It is just repeat of the last two election where the nation will vote for who they think is the least of the worst.

I do not think Obama would have been nominated without the support of the press. He has charm and not much else. Superficial does not make a great president.

What you say is true. We will become a socialist nation, no matter which is elected.

Not a good idea to make threats against potential US presidents, especially on a public forum.

Wow! I guess my eyes were looking over that. If here were currently president you would probably get a knock on the door from the Secret Service if you lived in the U.S..
